I note Ryanair et al in the news again! This time it's the credit card scam. Scam because it only shows up right at the end of your online transaction. This rates with Easyjet's undersize baggage gauge. We can all have a laugh about stewardess co-pilots, strap hanging, pay per pee etc., but a downright con is totally unacceptable, and possibly illegal. Not for me, sorry.
The price should be the price, end of story. Cheap? No frills? I say add it all up, and then factor in the stress!
What's the difference between unlawful and illegal? Unlawful is against the law and illegal...
is a sick bird!
"Sick as a parrot" when you know you've been had!

So - what you seem to be saying is Ryanair are cheap but NOT very nice. So it's worth paying the extra £600 for me and my family to fly with Thomas Cook to the same airport, departing and arriving at about the same time, so that we can each take an additional 2kg of hold luggage and the same half full hand luggage. I see you point (actually I don't really) -

Sorry if I offended you Stuart. However your remarks don't seem to relate to the issue I was airing.
I was commenting on the very high card charges issued by some budget airlines which are: 1) Not shown until the end of the transaction 2) Way above the <£0.50 card transaction charge 3) Unavoidable unless you are in posession of a specific card, again not specified at the start of the transaction.
The undersize hand baggage gauge related to Easyjet some time ago. They were forced to comply with the regulations and standardise, but doubtless no refunds to those conned previously.
I know sth has other issues and you may be referring to his comments, which relate to different matters like hold luggage allowance. These restrictions are known in advance, so a choice can be made.

You didn't offend me Kinygos - actually we're flying Thomas Cook from Glasgow - it's convenient but NOT cheap - flew with Jet2 from Manchester in September - pretty cheap - not bad service - REALLY uncomfortable plastic seats with virtually no cushioning. As I mentioned we've got a couple of friends flying out for the wedding with Ryanair - I'll report back...

As I've said before we've used them a couple oftimes without problem , even with the £20 added on at the end it's still alot cheaper , their flight times are convenient and they are usually on time .

Insider info today shows 10 pilots/week leaving this airline due to MOL's policies in relation to working conditions. They have currently got a shortage of 200 pilots for coming summer season! It is feared that if this trend is allowed to continue, flight cancellations may be widespread. Furthermore, a totally high handed attitude in their dealings with Boeing may eventually lead to an aircraft shortage. Happy days at the O'Leary corral!

Think I will give them a miss unless much cheaper then Sleazy. Would much prefer Aegean, but to get to Heathrow from Yorkshireland is just too much for the extra 4 hours of comfort. For summer Jet2 wins although the Leeds flights this year are now in afternoon Having to go to Lancashire now for June flight. Boo !!

Jet2 wins for us too. Now that they fly from East Midlands it's so much easier for us and I have to say we've actually been really happy with their service, and even like the seats which were leather on all the flights we've been on and very comfortable!

Pda, Aegean are operating a charter from Manchester to Rhodes (we're due (at the moment) to fly with them in May). Don't know whether it will be to the standard of their scheduled flights but might be worth checking out

For you Ryanair fans, I suppose you know that they fly to Rhodes on a Wed at 07.30 from Bournemouth. I also heard a whisper that Easyjet had started the same but don't have confirmation of that.

At last we have an alterative to both Easyjet and Ryanair, possibly another one by Phill Wyatt! And they have an improved complaint handling system. I have decided to sacrifice my back and fly Ryanair from Stanstead to Diagoras, but I shall only have hand luggage!
