A couple of friends of ours tried to get themselves booked onto the Thomas Cook flight from Glasgow to Rhodes but discovered the the flight was full. BUT then they found out that Ryanair are flying from Stansted to Rhodes on Tuesdays and Thursdays for £100 return plus £55 for 20kg baggage. Pretty good I think.

We did have a thread running about Ryan air but due to the server problems we lost it ! The general jist of it was .. I don't mind them , Sth dislikes them immensley For me as long as you read the small print carefully then you can grab a bargain They are flying from Liverpool Mondays and Thursdays ( I think ) We've travelled a few times with them , due to go to Rome with them soon , Ive never had a problem with them ( touch wood )

Ah, the pearls of wisdom that fell before the swine to be trampled underfoot!
I did post a follow-on about Taxis. It was out of place. I will now post in Transfers.
Go figure! By the way what happened to the strange post at the weekend about fences, (or was it gates?) (in Australia?) It disappeared and was never seen again. Very Fortean!

Aye Liz . I DO use them but only to skip over to Dublin when I can get away with a "man bag" and avoid doing anything other than sitting without interest in anything until I can get off their wretched plane. Stuart - double check their checked in baggage allowance. It is usually 15Kg. They may have decided to take pity on holiday makers especially those who carry items like witches hats and synchronized swimming outfits and then return with copious quantities of Retsina ;D

I saw that weird post too. I was too taken aback to post a response at the time.

You'll probably find there is a combination lock on the loo door and the crew won't speak enough English to understand your plight. ;D I've flown with them many times between Bristol/Liverpool/Stansted/Dublin/Derry/Belfast and oddly have seldom encountered an Irish crew member. The inflight announcements would benefit from a Lithuanian or Estonian phrase book. Are they charging you extra for the 20Kg bag. Surprised if they don't otherwise what is the reason for the option. His reasoning is that the extra 5 Kg adds to his already well hedged fuel bill. I hope it works well for you - good luck.

To be honest Sth everytime weve flown with them the crew have always had Irish accents which OH finds enchanting ! But then I don't care what accent they have as long as they do their job If/when I have a bad experience I shall reportback with venom up to now no complaints .

good to find out, that Ryan Air flights to Rodes also from Germany Sunday and Thursday, starts in April. The price is good, with 5 kg handbag and 15/20 kg luggage enough for the summer months for normal stay. And a short or last minute stay now is possible. Used the Ryan last year via Kos to Halki. It was ok and flights on time. Maybe a good option: Where RyanAir flights, there is a good chance of a shuttle or transfer from Airport (there was a local bus in Kos coordinated to the flight) Maybe this can be in advantage to the taxi fare. We will see and find out. Does anybody know when the hotel starts season ?
