Just out of interest I ran a booking through from Stansted in May and it comes out at roughly what you say but that is now. They are applying a no tax clause on these flights which they have done before when opening new routes. I suspect that when the service is up and running, the tax will be reininstated. That could take the fare up to close on £300. Grab it while you can! Also, as I suspected, their standard 15Kg limit is there at £30/bag but they have given the option to increase to 20Kg for £50. You never get anything for nothing from Ryanair. It is convenient for independent travellers that they are operating three days/week - Tues/Thurs/Sat.

From Germany( Frankfurt-Hahn - Rodes) its only 84 Euro Return. No other airline can top it. If you have only 10 kg Handbag and 15 kg luggage there are no further costs. Best condition for a short or spontaneous visit. And they use to be on time. In spite of all negative conditions I prefer to use them. I`ll find out. Maria ;D

It is funny how you can pick up things from subtle inference, and I’m not entirely sure, but I suspect that sth does not like Ryanair. I don’t know how I got that idea!
In my previous posting that evaporated, I stated that I had misgivings about both Ryanair and Easyjet as examples of “Low-cost Airlines”. I don’t want to do it all again, but my point is, particularly for holidaymakers, while cost is important it can be outweighed by a relaxed experience. If everything is clear, and you know that you have limits to which you must adhere, and you keep within them there should be no problem. The use of an undersize hand baggage gauge transgresses the rules with the aim of making money. It is unacceptable. The best answer is to ensure that your hand baggage is well within the size and that your hold baggage is half a kilo under the stated weight limit. Be assured that there will be no flexibility on these matters. The gauge and weighing apparatus they use will be correct, by definition. They will delight in surcharging you! I tend to think in a different direction. We all prefer direct flights of course, but my suggestion is this. If you have a local airport which does not fly direct to Diagoras it may be worth looking at flying from there to Schiphol, Frankfurt, or Athens and then to Diagoras. Another thing to consider, even the tyranny of Wednesday-to-Wednesday property lets may cease to apply on Halki if you travel totally independently. Putting the two together, you may enable you to avoid long road journeys, traffic jams, parking fees, and the company of Wayne and Waynetta Slob on a package holiday in Faliraki. For me that's priceless!

make sure you go to the loo before you get on as well. I was told today (although it may be a malicious rumour) that they charge £1 to use the loo on the plane

Long time rumour and not true. However, MOL still trots it out as one of his cherished plans. It gets him lots of publicity which is probably what it is all about. I don't really care what airline I travel with but one thing I do know - If I want to get to Halki I will fly to Rhodes NOT Kos! Regardless of the cost.

£155 total - inc 20kg (not 15kg) plus tax (which is actually zero in from May onwards - tax appears to be about £33 each way in April)

No complaints there.
A guy is sitting in the bar in departures at Heathrow. A beautiful woman walks in and sits down at the table next to him.
He decides because she's got a uniform on, she's probably an off duty flight attendant. So he decides to have a go at picking her up by identifying the airline she flies for thereby impressing her greatly. He leans across to her and says the Delta Airlines motto: " We love to fly and it shows ".The woman looks at him blankly. He sits back and thinks up another line. He leans forward again and delivers the Air France motto: "Winning the hearts of the world". Again she just stares at him with a slightly puzzled look on her face. Undeterred, he tries again , this time saying the Malaysian Airlines motto: "Going beyond expectations". The woman looks at him sternly and says; " What the f### do you want?"
"Ah!" he says, sitting back with a smile on his face,
"Ryanair"!!!

Lol ! Great deal Stuart , I don't think Sth will ever be converted As I said in the lost thread , you get what you pay for and as long as you don't try to buck the system then things are fine . We saw 4 Spanish girls at Malaga try to get 2 full size suitcases aboard as hand luggage ! It was quite entertaining to count the number of ways they tried to disguise the suitcases ! M Needless to say they didn't get them on !

His latest notion is to remove the back 12 rows of seats and fit roof rails with hanging straps. Thereby providing £5.00 flights offering standing room only. Applicable to short domestic flights. The CAA have cast a rather jaundised eye over this idea. More publicity. Another recent plan was to put his cabin staff through a short flight training program and then remove the copilot. In the event of necessity a member of cabin staff could come in and assist. Needless to say he has a somewhat low opinion of the task undertaken by airline pilots and has publicly stated anyone could do it. You wonder why I don't like flying on his planes.
