I'm looking at the following flight from Birmingham to Rhodes next year, does this look like it will fit OK with the ferry timetable? I can't remember how long it takes to get to KS
Birmingham TOM7327 7.00-13.05 Outward TOM7323 14.05-16.25 Return

Thanks, I thought it was OK for the outward, but wasn't sure about the return.

If you are going independant you need to catch the early ferry to Kamiros which leaves approx 8.30 & have taxi lined up waiting. Should then be in time for your flight return. Second ferry leaves 9.30 ish Spiliani leaves 10.30 very ish ! Enjoy

Well I've just booked the flights. They wanted £15 each for meals and £16 each for 20kilos baggage allowance.......grrrrrrrrr
I've booked the baggage allowance but I'm darned if I'm paying £30 for the food.
When are you going Carol? We're going on 15th September for a week.

We will just miss you Maria, we go on 1st september for two weeks. The luggage allowance I will have to pay for but not the food, the food with Thomas cook this year was appalling, we will get a sandwich and then have a big lunch at KS ;D

Sunfun, even the luggage scam is an outrage. They're all doing it but it's still not right.
We get used to 20kgs and then they drop it to 15 and make you pay extra. Halki is as laid back as you can get and over the years we have realized that you don't have to dress for the Ritz at night.
Bottom line is that I object to this additional price 'hike' and 15 Kgs is achievable but I will confess that it's tight. Spill evening meal on your trousers and your back to shorts and my legs in shorts is not a pretty sight!
Couldn't agree more re flight meals. They are appalling, eat at KS if you have time. As the meerkats say seemple.

Maria, these are the flights we used this year - just returned last Wednesday.
Taxi cost 35 Euros to KS and our driver spent the whole journey phoning his mates and loudly telling them that he had a fare to KAMIROS SKALA!!!! He obviously thought he'd drawn the short straw. He got us there in record time and there was plenty of time to have a leisurely lunch at Kamiros before the boat left.
We got the 9.30 am ferry on the return journey, and had a taxi waiting at KS (50 Euros grrrrr!), arriving at the airport in plenty of time for our flight. In fact it worked very well as the check-in desk had just opened when we got to the airport so we got rid of our cases straight away then had a couple of hours free for lunch etc.
Like you we didn't book the meals on board! But when they came round they smelled good and I commented to the lady next to me that I wished I'd ordered one. She said her husband never had his (their in-flight meals were part of their inclusive holiday) so I could have it instead! Almost wish I hadn't though, it was burnt and really salty.

:)j90,we have just returned from corfu and they charge you 12 euros a kilo if you are over! :oWell worth paying the 15 euros to be on the safe side.We just managed 15 for a week, but i wouldn't attempt it for a fortnight,we really need 20kgs each. By the way, never saw anyone eating a plane meal on the flights.Maybe we're all getting wise to it. I agree it is a rip'off, but don't mind paying for extra kg,but the meals are not worth paying anything for at all.We took them when they were included in the price, but mostly had a look and ate part of it if we were lucky.Much prefer taking our own stuff. ;D

;DThanks Liz. First two days were great, nice and sunny. Then we had thunder, lightning, torrential rain! It was bloody cold as well! It was a nice village and the people were lovely.Prices very cheap compared to other places and we had some of the best meals we've had on holiday in years. ;D ;D ;D There are lots of nice walks you can do...weather permitting. We climbed up a mountain to a village on the last day and the views were stunning. We were just unlucky with the weather, which i think makes your holiday really. Just hope the sun shines in halki next year! ;D ;D ;D
