Pleased you have got sorted out, the same photo in the Direct Greece brochure has been in there for many years, obviously before the vine was planted and therefore the photo does need updating as it does obviously affect the amount of sunlight on the terrace. I had a look at Elena in the brochure and you will get more late afternoon sun on that side of the harbour, great result and pleased we were of some help to you, will pass your message on to Graeme ;D

Hi Sunfun, Graeme is my husband, I do the talking ( posting ) he does the technical stuff like photos ;D I am not sure of the exact position of Elena, we always stay the Kaity side but from the photo in the Direct Greece brochure I would say it is lower. You are never far from the harbour wherever you are staying probably 5minutes I would think. When are you going ?

Hi Carol,of course i will! One good turn deserves another :)By the way,it was my hubby who sent the photo to direct greece.Lucky he was in when they asked for it as i wouldn't have had a clue how to do it! Is it right that some of the restaurants do takeaways? Are there any eateries you would recommend,or are they all worth a try?How many times have you been?Is it your second home? ;D

HI sunfun ....I think most of the restaurants will do a take away as such for you ....the thing is they are all so close that there is not much need to eat in .........all of them are good and well worth a try -we all have our favourites ..which is often discussed at length here .....it is Carols second home

Hi Sunfun, like Liz says give all the tavernas a try, sometimes even from year to year our favourite changes. We spend every day at Ftenagia, the pebble beach and love the food and everything about that taverna, that will never change while the lovely Nick is in charge, the views are amazing, that is what I pine for when I come home. You must also try Theodossias for homemade cakes and ice creams and divine cocktails, you will soon choose a favourite bar or taverna and find yourself spending every evening there like we all do. This will be our ninth year I think and we are already planning next years holiday but we only go once a year unlike others who go early and late in the season, I really wish it was my second home if it was just down to me it would be but for now it is just my two weeks of paradise every september ;D

Hi,just wondered how Halki measures up pricewise for food and drink.Do you find it more expensive than other places? Also,Nick's sounds lovely,he seems to have a good reputation. Are the prices reasonable? Thanks

As we never go anywhere else in Greece I cannot answer your question about prices but unfortunately with the euro and pound in such a state at present I fear it will be more expensive this year. You may have looked already at the Ftenagia website but if not this is the link www.ftenagia.gr/en/restaurant if you look at the restaurant photos there is a photo of us at our last memorable lunch, I am the one holding the coke can, but it was not mine !!!! You will see what I meant about the stunning sea views, it is definitely a place to linger ;D

Hi Carol, :)Yes,we have seen Nicks website, and you're right.it is absolutely gorgeous! Is that you on the photo at the kaity as well? Where did you stay when you were there?Do you always stay at the same place or do you have a change now and again? We are so looking forward to this holiday, but i must admit,if we'd been going to the kaity studio,it would have put the dampers on it,so i have to thank you all once again.P.S. Glad to hear you don't just drink coke! ;D

Hi Sunfun, on our first visit many years ago we stayed in Kaity up and again in 2007, then we had four years in Villa Neovi, a year in Villa Stelios and last year in Villa Flora, this year for the first time we are going independantly and staying in Villa Yorgos, there is a link to it on here if you want to have a look. It is a bit of a climb up but the views are stunning and it is a lovely property. It is a friend of ours on the balcony at Kaity but it is me standing in front of it, Flora where we stayed last year is the next property up the hill from Kaity. I bet you are counting the weeks, May is not too far away ;D

Hi Carol, :)I had a look at your villa and it looks lovely. We got our confirmation of the change of accomodation,so that's a relief ;D The car's booked in ,and yes i'm counting the weeks...but i'll also have to start counting the calories! I always get excited about holidays, but my hubby doesn't usually say too much. However, this time it's different as he cannot wait either! ;D
