???We are looking to make our first trip to Halki this year and have decided to book through Olympic Holidays purely so that they sort flights/ferries/transfers and accomodation. Need to chose between Zifos Studio/Kaliopi Studios/Kiki Studios/Roulla Studios and Petros Appts. Happy with basic but clean accomodation but view over harbour top of list! Does anyone know where the above properties are and which have better views. Thanks

Hi Ziggypuss, stayed in Petros (upstairs) a couple of years ago. Our apartment was for a maximum of 3 where as downstairs is for 4. Very spacious, quirky accommodation with big picture windows and a fantastic view. No view in the apartment downstairs though. As Harry says, basic but had a lovely charm.

Never travelled with Olympic but would advise you to be careful as I know some of their stuff leaves a lot to be desired especially the overnight stay in Faliraki

We have stayed in Kaliopi Studios for the past two years and are returning in September they are basic but clean. If you require a view of the harbour you will need an upper room of which there are only two. Enjoy it.

Having read these comments the word basic keeps coming up and i don't go on Holiday to do basic also very worrying about the transfers it's OK if you go for 2 weeks but if you only go for a week and you have to wait until Thursday to get to the island not for me i will look to book with another company

Hi Tim, a lot of the accomodation is basic compared to other islands but for some that is part of the islands charm, have you visited Halki before ? The other two companies that have properties for rent have a larger variation, Nissia in particular are possibly less basic, we have always travelled with Direct Greece/Thomas Cook and have always been more than happy with the properties we have rented and the advantage with both of these is that you arrive the same day. It may also be worth you looking on this site at the independant accomodation that is available, hope this is helpful and you get sorted out ;D

Many thanks Carol for your posting. Having look at both Direct and Nissia you are right I spoke to a nice lady at Nissia today and they do seem to have a lot more useful things in their accommodation, also she was able to give me plenty of information on the island .The lady i spoke to at Direct was very helpful but a little unsure on several items .So I have now booked with Nissia to travel to Halki for two weeks on 27th May. I look forward to meeting many regulars as this will be our first visit. The last thing I need is my wife giving me grief for booking a holiday in basic accommodation ;D This site has been very useful for us in making up our mind to go to Halki
