Hi, does anyone have a contact telephone number for the Ai Nicholas Hotel. The telephone and email on their website does not appear yo be working . I read in an earlier post on here that a lady called Clara is a member of this forum , and that she has something to do with the hotel, is she still on here ? Any help would be appreciated , maybe someone is currently on the island who could help . Thx

Hi, haven't heard anything so far about the hotel, visitors should start arriving for the beginning of the season on Wednesday so hopefully you may get some feedback then.

No sign of anyone at the hotel. Don't think it will open anytime soon...

The website has an online booking engine that appears to work but no response from email etc . Will the visitors who will be arriving Wednesday be arriving through tour operators?

Afraid I can't answer that, a mix of both I imagine, a lot of people go independently these days but mainly to villas and apartments not the hotel, not from the UK anyway. Pda is over there so his information is accurate.

Wednesday is the 'traditional' crossover day on Halki .. I dont think there are any tour operators who do a package to the hotel. As the tour operators dwindle then most of the travelers are independent ... if your hearts set on the hotel then good luck its been hit n miss for years .. I liken it to Fawlty Towers !...There's plenty of good accommodation on Halki for you

I was hoping to visit Halki for 3 nights whilst in Rhodes in early July but I could only find the Ai Nicholas that would let you book 3 night stays . Well the online booking engine lets you book the accommodation . Looks like I will have to try to find somewhere else to stay ? Any ideas anyone ?

Try Zifos Travel, which is really an accommodation, not a travel agent. I think that's the best bet for short stay. The next question you are going to ask is about ferry timetables. (I'll get my coat!)

Haha, no Kinygos , I've been planning this trip a while and I've actually already booked the ferry . We are visiting Rhodes , Symi and tilos for 3 weeks and ended up with 8 nights at Lindos at the end of the holiday , so thought a few days on Halki in the middle would be nice after reading blogs like this that told how beautiful the island is. Went online trying to find somewhere that would do just a couple of nights and found Ai Nicolas and booked online , got conformation email at the time and just left it . Until now , thought I'd contact them just to be sure , and that as proved impossible.

Hope you have not paid the hotel yet as they show no sign of opening.
Try ringing agents - Zifostravel.gr or 3Redbags.com plus other independants like atlantishouses.com and others mentioned. Few days is sometimes difficult in July as its a busy time here.
Good luck

Thanks pda , no they didn't take the money off the card , but the booking engine is still online and useable so I don't know what is going on there . At the foot of the site it has just recently changed from saying that it was created in 2013 to 2014. I will try the companies you mentioned , but like say it maybe too late now just for 3 nights. Bit strange to leave the website up like that , also greeksun holidays and Sunvil show the hotel on their websites but don't know if they have been taking bookings.

There is a programme on BBC Radio 4 “The unbelievable truth” in which the panellists deliver a short lecture of nonsense in which are embedded five true statements. The object is to make the lies more believable than the truths. Fellow panellists challenge when they think a statement is true. I recommend this programme.
“The following has nothing to do with the programme.
From the official website of The Saint Nicholas Boutique Hotel:
• 24-Hour Reception / Front Desk • Baby Chairs at the Restaurant • Bar Restaurant • Beach Bar • Beach Sunbeds & Umbrellas • Beach Towels • Conference Room (with charge) • Doctor (upon request - with charge) • Fax & Photocopy Service (with charge) • Internet Corner • Laundry & Ironing Service • Lobby Lounge (with charge) • Massage • Parking Area • Pets Allowed • Pool Bar • Pool Snack Bar • Pool Sunbeds & Umbrellas • Pool Towels • Port Transportation • Restaurant • Roof Garden • Room Service • Safe Deposit Box • Satelite TV • Sauna • Toilets for disabled people • Wi-Fi Internet Access • Our property operates from Apr 1 to Oct 31
Finally; I have reliable information the proprietor of the above establishment is considering visiting it this week with a view to opening for the 2014 season.
Am I experiencing Déjà vu?”
