I was just wondering if there was a particular ferry that they had an arangement with? I know the transfer time can vary depending on which one, would be nice to know in advance if we'd be getting there a little earlier Cheers Tom and Rose

The posh visitors from Nissia tend to always use the same ferry but everyone else seem to use whichever is in port at the time Tom.

I think it's one with the pointy end to the front ! The only time difference ( in terms of speed ) is if you use the Fedon and as far as I know that's not used by the tour operators

Surely if you are transferred by coach with Olympic all their visitors will be together so will therefore travel across on the same ferry, generally unless there are flight delays the two bigger ferries tend to leave about the same time ie 5-5.30pm we should soon have a timetable for the Fedon but last year it left a bit later.

Thanks for all the replies.
I'm presuming that the Fedon is the faster transfer? We're really looking forward to getting there. We had a false start a few years ago and after getting all excited about booking, we never actually did. 28 sleeps to go now though :-)

Yes the Fedon does the trip in just under an hour but looking back it seems to have left Kamiros Scala at 6pm last year.

I think the next line had something to do with ducks?
I do not fully understand what this thread is about.
Nissia have some sort of arrangement with the Nikos Express, as far as I know all others use the Nissos Halki.
The ferries do multiple trips in the season to accommodate day trippers. They do only one crossing for the holiday companies, so the early holidaymakers wait for the late ones.
You are quite entitled to go on whatever ferry you like, but if it is not the designated one you will pay something like €10.
I frequently travel on a Wednesday and it is usually the Nikos Express that leaves first, but not always.
I rarely take my boat to KS these days as the jetty gets full of ferries every day of the week and they don't want little boats in the way, or even big ones! There have been "discussions" between ferry captains and the captain of Symi Fish II.
You will not miss the ferry if that is what you are worried about; there will be no panic.
As always if the wind is S, SW, or W the boarding is "interesting"; you are allowed to panic in this case, if you wish!
