Welcome to a new member -ahimonet. It's good to see someone signing up in the winter months. Looks like a name with a Halki connection.

Hi folks. Looking forward to all the discussion regarding Halki. We try to visit every two years, from NY, and intend on maintaining our home for a retirement destination, in 12 years.

Hello all - have just registered to join the forum after spending an eye-squaring couple of hours reading some (very interesting) posts.. Thanks for all the info - we are going to Halki in a week and wanted to know as much as possible, and there is certainly a wealth of information here!! We only chanced on Halki by happy accident - as we were trying to get to Pelion (visited there two years ago and liked it a lot) - but hardly any tour operators go there now, and we did not have time to scout around, - being in dire need of a holiday this year due to one thing or another - a little Greek relaxation will be heaven! Seems we've made a good choice, Halki reminds me very much of Symi where we had a wonderful time - albeit twenty-odd years ago.... I realize it'll be hot in July - but is it breezy sometimes? Hope so!! Especially as the only a/c will be by leaving the doors open apparently! Anyway, nice to meet you. Hope I have posted this in the right place to say hello! Cheers everyone

Welcome to the board Henry , I'm sure you'll love Halki as we all do . Where are you staying ? Some of the accomodations do have air con , if not you can hire Fans from Zifos (under the trees next to Petros's Emporium )but we've always been comfortable with the windows open . Ask away if there's anything specific you want to know Im sure there'll be someone that knows
