Well I have to say that DG/TC are not looking too bad at the moment and after great consideration we have rebooked with them for next year.

Flying from Glasgow our only other choice of flights is XL and obviously that not possible now so we are going for DG/TC again.

Actually for the same weeks at the same accommodation it works out GBP200 cheaper. Mind you we are reckoning on probably having to stomp up some more before then.

By the way. The Olga has been removed from the DG/TC accommodation list for next year. !!!

Hi - DG are looking better. We had been contemplating independent travelling for next year and had booked flights (three week holiday) with XL. When they fell over tried to rebook with other companies but prices had risen dramatically. Checked with DG and managed to get a month in late May for £200 each more than the cheapest flight so have gone ahead with this. Waiting about at the airport for 4 hours isn't much when taken out of 4 weeks!

Lynn - we have flown from Glasgow for the last 4 years until this year, when because of the terrible flight times, we changed our travel arrangements and flew from Edinburgh (with DG/TC, who I have to say were really ok both times we traveled to Halki this summer). Edinburgh flight times are 10.15am out 5.45pm back. I reckon you could probably book your own flight with Monark.

I'm sure you're all right about Olga, Hiona and Elego, but they are all included in the 2009 brochure that I received two or three weeks ago.

I do not think you should take much notice of that brochure Stuart, apparently it was published before the contracts with the owners were signed, already it seems that villa flora is not available with DG/TC along with the others mentioned but of course different properties could still be added, as they say, watch this space

We're back Flew from Edinburgh with Monarch and the check in desk must have taken a fancy to Jim because when we got on the plane we turned left instead of right and were sitting in row 2 in what would be business class. Extra leg room and everything. ;D

Holiday was great as usual apart from the sewage works going on along the harbourside. Starting at 7.30 in the morning pretty much non-stop until 7 to 8 at night. Costa's had to take their frontage down. Steki's were never open the whole time we were there because it was being used as a walkway. Avra had to remove some tables and it was no fun sitting in there with the sewage works going on not 2 feet away. We tried to eat at Maria's one night and the smell from the sewers was horrible so we had to leave.

Apparently this work had to be done or the council would have lost the grant if it was not 80% completed by 18 December. However, I do feel that it could have waited another couple of weeks.

Eleni and Valandis closed the day after we arrived because, being heavily pregnant, she was fed up with the pollution coming from the work.

Our first week the roof of the building next to us was being replaced and once that was finished the house next to that started it's building work.

There was also some work going on behind Ftegania so it was quite a pleasure to get home and find that the builders we left doing our house weren't there!!

Still.....it was great and we are looking forward to going back next year. Our tenth year.

Have just received a letter from DG/TC to say that our flight to Lesvos in May next year has been cancelled . They have however offered us another flight 2 days later with Monarch which actually works out better - it's on a Saturday ;D ;D Saying that, I wouldn't start giving them too much praise just yet.
