I seem to recall from somewhere that the water taxi (which like many others I've never used) has a maximum passenger capacity of 12 people, so I don't think it could take as many as 18?
Here's a different angle: is there anywhere on Rhodes directly opposite Halki (ie more directly opposite than KS, and with road access) where a small boat could drop off or collect people? (Faced with the prospect of choosing, for example, between a missed flight or 230 euros, I might well be prepared to wade ashore!)

Guys - Kinygos is totally correct - 230 Euros charter rate, 12.50 Euros scheduled (I was in fact the only person on the boat there and back). I reckon 18 would be absolute capacity, but only four of those people would stay dry. I could have waited only two hours for the Nissos Halki But decided an afternoon (after 1/2 hour at the Town Hall with Jane C) at Ftenagia chatting with Nik and Lele was worth 115 Euros an hour. Don't you agree? Overall I head a great time. A more leisurely visit in six weeks.

Trust me when I say the road access is, best described as steep and very tortuous. Also this place needs a favourable sea to moor at the jetty in a boat no larger than Kinygos II.Go Google Earth 36degrees 11' 16.06" N 27degrees 45' 58.10" E (Jetty) Best stick to Kamiros Skala!

Simon is right. The guy won't go there. Furthermore, you have little chance of getting a taxi to go even if they knew where it was. I've been on my own boat and it is not viable. Had it been so, it would have been in use years ago.
