Ideally a nine o'clock on a wednesday to get me to KS for the early ferry lol Firstly, WELL DONE MARIA! As I understand it from the timetable there is an early bus (07:30) on Saturdays to Kamiros Skala in addition to the usual 13:30 one. Perhaps this relates to the day trips, or it may just be a coincidence. The vital information which does not seem to be available is the departure time from Diagoras to Kamiros Skala, and the arrival time. Similarly the reverse trip. I am sure this leg of the journey is of most interest to the HV readers. From personal experience I know that the progress of the bus from Rodos town to KS is highly variable, so a prediction of the arrival and departure from Diagoras would be highly speculative. I note that the convoys of 50cc two-up quadbikes seem to have mostly ceased their road blocking crawl. These were the bane of my life and I am sure the bus drivers enjoyed them even less. However the ferry does wait for the bus, but planes do not wait if you are taking the return trip! The Rodos 13:30 is supposed to arrive at KS at 14:30, but is usually 14:45. The airport is less than half way in distance, but that part of the journey is subject to the heaviest traffic, so who knows? If I have nothing better to do on my return I will see if I can get more information, if only by observation. (That's a lot of ifs!)

Great idea ! we always use the bus ! but we never had the idea to take notice about the time it takes from A to B ! Next time (we go in July) or in May I´ll take exact notice and report it last time in March, the taxi drivers took extra money for the baggage (had only 1 piece) from Rhodes town hotel to the harbor. I was told at the tourist office that they practice it but it is not correct. They recommend me, to ask the taxi driver for a receipt. I know that it is OK all over the world to give the driver a tip - but to pay extra for 1 piece of 15 kg baggage ? Maria

I didn't have any problems with "extras" in Feb/March while trekking about in taxis on Rhodes. Got differences in fares but they get levelled by altering the tip ! Think you just got the bad apple Maria Love the early bus to Rhodes, apart from the 6am start, lots of views you just seem to miss travelling at warp speed in a taxi.

hello, I always use a bus if possible. Found out, that the bus from Rhodes town (starts at 1.20 pm) to Kamiros Scala pass the Airport at 2.00 pm (or few minutes past 2.00) The Kamiros ferry waits for the bus arrival. Hope this helps the travelers looking for alternatives . Maria

This is all very helpful - thanks folks. A question - How do you know where to wait for the bus at the airport? At what time would you panic and get a taxi!? We're coming back to Halki (at last) in June (15th) though we'll be on Rhodes a couple of nights before and haven't quite worked out how we are getting to KS Thanks Fiona

This bus pass the airport at 2.00 pm or few minutes later. My last information was, that the bus stoops at the bus stop in front of "departure", but you better you at the information or ask the bus drivers arriving at this time. No panic, the bus will come, the ferry waits for the bus arrival. Maria

Has anybody used the bus service from the airport to KS recently? We're arriving from Birmingham next Weds and should have plenty of time to catch the bus. The taxi at 40E does seem to be pretty expensive if we can get a bus for about 7E each.
How long does it take for the bus to reach KS from the airport and do the ferries ALWAYS wait for the bus?
Thanks Maria (the other one)

hello, we used the bus in July. 5.10 Euro. The bus pass the airport at the bus station about 2.00pm. Bu take care, you easy miss it, because it stopps very short and there is no sing on it, for KS. So better you ask every busdriver around 2.00 for KS. The ferry waits for the bus about 2.30 pm . Alternative you can go to Rhodes town with the bus if you have too much time and take the bus at 1.20 pm at the bus stop. We always use the bus if possible. Gr. Maria
