Hi Simon. Many thanks for your info on the 7 seaters which may be available at the airport! I have looked on the internet over the past few months and not been able to find anything that wasn't either four seats - or way too many seats! ;D ;D If we can get a 7 seater, that will be great ........although maybe the price will be double!

We are travelling with Olympic, and our flight from Manchester is due into Rhodes at 4pm local time on the Wednesday. Will we be on the ferry the ferry that day, rather than have to wait to the following day (she asked hopefully)?

At first I was going to say you'll be staying on Rhodes ... but you may just make it ..it may depend if there are any others on your flight going to Halki and if they will hold the last boat for you

Dawn, I reckon you will almost certainly get to Halki on the Wednesday, unless there is major flight delay. I have just returned from a week on Halki - my flight from Gatwick arrived at about 1500 and I took the first ferry to leave (I was travelling independently, not on a package including transfers, although on tickets bought from Olympic Hols). The second ferry waited for passengers on Olympic Hols and other operators' packages from Manchester, and if necessary the second ferry will usually wait for Direct Greece Edinburgh passengers who are scheduled to arrive last. Also, it's not in the interests of the tour operator to have the hassle of putting you up in Rhodes.

Thanks for all good links. At last it seems that nobody knows, what time exactly the local ferry goes from Kamiros Scala to Halki on Thursday 25th June. I called serveral Phones, the Harbour Police, Zifos-Travel, and and and... there are different times. One says that there are day trips, one said that there is only a ferry at 2.30 p.m. and one said that it goes at 4.30 p.m......... So we take it easy. We arrive early mornings at 8.a.m. take the local bus to Rhodos town, have braekfast and walk arround until we take the local bus to KS at 1.20 p.m. and hope that there is a ferry in the afternoon. We`ll see. So long, Maria

I'm sure you'll be OK. The ferries seemed to be running much more frequently when we were there, But in true Greek fashion you can never be exactly sure when.!!!
