Ferry Times

I know its nearly the end of the season but thought the timetable for the ferries may be of some use ..I don't think they change much from year to year ..but don't take this as set in stone

Mon ,Tue,Thurs,Fri,Sat,Sun ..the 'Local ' boats -Nissos Halki and Nikos Express leave Halki at 6am ..return journey departs from KS at 2.30 ( unless there is an excursion from Rhodes and the return will be 5.30 for the Nissos Halki )

Wed ..One leaves at 8 am and the other 9.15 ..the timetable says the return is 4.30 and 5.30 but it is more like 5 and 6pm (maybe later for the 6 pm one )

Anyone know who has taken over from Lane Lines & whether they will be running similar routes/times ?

I've heard it is G & A Ferries but no idea of times. They have their own website which may offer some info.

I've just had a look on G.A.Ferries and it has been updated. Services as from this month are by the "Milena". Timetable is there.

Just heard that G & A Ferries are on the verge of bankruptcy and that the owner, Mr. Agoudimos, tried to commit suicide. He is still in hospital.
All his remaining boats are moored in Piraeus and his employees may be made redundant.
Talks between the Ministry and Mr. Agoudimos about government subsidies failed on Friday.

As for the "Prevelis" I can say that the boat is o.k. A few years ago it was chartered by the now defunct DANE Sea Lines to do the Piraeus - Rhodes run and everyone was quite pleased with the service.

I was very interested to read ermioni's post. By scouring I found the article. It has not been broadcast on the major media perhaps because the state apparently owes G and A ten or so million euros and has put blocks on reporting. Interestingly though there is a major scandal with the MP for the Dodecanese who has been found to have accepted backhanders worth only 100.000.
A sorry state of affairs I am afraid.

I'm coming over to Halki on 16th May under my own steam - can anyone confirm ferry times from Kamiros Skala on Sundays please as I'm staying overnight Saturday on Rhodes because my flight gets in late. Thanks guys

is there a ferry-time-update ? I did`t find a new ferry-time-plan for the summer-saeson. What aboutthe katamaran ? Does anybody know a link to the ferry- schedules?

I think the ferry serving Halki is the "Prevelis" (Anek Lines).

Thanks for the info - have now booked ANEK going to Halki and DODEKANISSOS on the way back, plus a night on Rhodes with taxi transfers. Just hope it all falls into place on the day as this is my first 'independent' trip

;D ;D Heather, I am sure it will all fall into place! Traveling independently adds to the fun, ;D I did it loads of times to Halki in the past, it adds to the experience! If you allow a little extra time so that if there are any delays it doesn't scupper your plans, it will keep you relaxed and able to enjoy it as part of your holiday.
We are going this year as a family for the first time, me, husband and three teenage girls, in the past, it was just me.We are going under our own steam, I just wish I could get around needing two taxis because there are five of us

Hi Kathy, I am sure there will be the odd 7 seater taxi at Rhodes airport to save you getting 2 taxis. That guy who co-ordinates the taxi rank would sort you out I would have thought.
