*sigh* Halki was as lovely as ever -quite a bit of building work going on but nothing too noisy or intrusive . The Villa at Ftenagia was wonderfull - a lovely location with beautifull views across the bay . The villa was extremley well furnished and equipped .the huge terrace was an absolute godsend  ...my only 'but' was the walk back at night , up over the hill .to us it was a hike and a half ..to others it may seem less but is something to be considered when booking ( I noticed alot of the people in the other villas had cars ) We met up with some old friends and made some new ones too -had some great lunches at Ftenagia. We also stayed at The Evi for a couple of nights ,again a wonderfully clean well finished and very well equiped house . My 18 year old son ,teamed up with some locals and discovered a whole new side to Halki I never new existed ..there is a bit of night life going on for the teenagers  ..he rarely made it home before 3am  I'd love to say its great to be back ..but its not !  |

Thanks for the feedback. I have been looking at those villas but have to say that I would be completely put off by the walk back at night. It would be just too much for me.

I'm sure my daughter would be interested in hearing more about the Halki nightlife! I'm intrigued!

Welcome back Liz, news from Halki is always welcome. These villas at Ftenagia look lovely but are too big for me (I go on my own) and the walk back at night would finish me off!

Welcome back to sunny Blighty ( I speak with forked tongue ). Great to hear that everything is as it should be on Halki. You may have noticed that the Board as grown in members while you have been enjoying yourselves at Ftenagia and we poor souls have had to endure some pretty awful weather. Anne & Peter have recently joined and thank you for setting it up.

Yes I can see our numbers have swelled ;D ..the more the merrier  Jennifer .I don't know how he does it ..he met up with a young English lad who spoke Greek and introduced him to the others ..they went to a party on a yacht one night ..Festival night he arrived home at 5am ..it all seems to 'happen ' in the stone bar later on The villas are lovely and apparently the bus ran in the evening last year but not ths year ..if the bus service was reliable then it would make it alot easier . |
