Just back from 4 weeks Greek Island Hopping and had a great time. We flew from Manchester to Crete ( Heraklion ). We got off the plane, took a taxi to the port (5 mins) and boarded the Preveli to MILOS. It took about 7 hours via Santorini. We had 4 nights on Milos and did not want to leave but we had other islands to visit. We the went to SERIFOS for 3 nights before making our way to SIFNOS. Another 3 nights there and had a wonderful stay. Next was FOLEGANDROS FOR 3 nights before leaving for IOS. We had 4 nights there and again did not want to leave. We stayed in the harbour area of Ormos with plenty of tavernas and a superb beach. SANTORINI was our next port of call for 2 nights (we went to Santorini some years ago for 2 weeks). It was very busy there with tourists and Cruise ships and more expensive than the other islands. Example :- Mythos (0.5L) on Ios 2 euros, Santorini 4.20 Euros. We then went back to CRETE and stayed in the lovely little resort of Agia Pelegia. We stayed there for 8 nights to wind down and chill out after our travels and would recommend this resort for anyone going to Crete. Accomodation was no problem on any of the Islands. We stayed in a combination of Studios and small Hotels. We averaged 30 euros per night over the 4 weeks. A very enjoyable experience but still looking forward to HALKI next May/June for 4 weeks.

Welcome home Bob and Joan! Thanks for the update on your travels. It sounds like you had a really good time. I haven't even heard of half the places you visited and would love to go to as many as possible. We got your message via Eleni after you'd phoned her while we were there - thanks! ;D Perhaps you can now persuade Harry that instead of going to Halki twice a year, we could visit some other islands once in a while?

Hi bobandjoan What did you think of Folegandros? We've looked at it a number of times but always ended up going somehere else. It seems to be getting more and more popular. Interested to hear you liked Ios. Sunmed used to go there years ago, but I heard it fell from grace a bit, and started attracting what me mum would describe as "the wrong sort" . Glad it seems to have returned to "normal" as it's another one we quite liked the look of.
