We are returning to Halki on the 27th, so only another 23 sleeps to go. We are returning with Nissia and have opted for the taxi transfer to and from the airport/port, we think it is a 'nicer' way to start the Greek part of the holiday, hop straight into a waiting taxi - we hope and a quick drive to the port and have a beer or while waiting for the coach to arrive from the airport and the boat to leave. Just hope it all works as easy as it seems........ ;D

If the transfers are being arranged for you then I am sure it will all be fine. Must admit though we found it significantly cheaper to do it ourself Either way, it's much nicer transferring by taxi and chosing where to spend your time waiting for the boat/plane than having to hang round waiting for a coach! We also learnt a lot about all sorts of things on our taxi transfers this May including how much car tax costs in Greece, how often taxis have to be MOT'd and the differences in primary school education between Greece and the UK! Enjoy ;D

I'm sure it will be fine, we just find that sometimes waiting for others in a hot and stuffy coach after a 4 hour trip just about 'too much' and a taxi ride seemed perfect !.

We've always been with DG before so never had too much of a wait for the bus but one year we were sent ahead in a taxi ..we sat at KS ..had lunch and a few beers and just as the ferry honked his horn the bus turned up with all these red,hot sweaty faces at the window .....we tried our best not to look smug ............but failed miserably ;D ;D

I am looking for any advice! As there will be 5 of us travelling from the airport to KS (2 adults & 3 older teens ) From what I can see, taxis only hold 4 passengers, do they use anything bigger at all, or are we stuck with needing 2 taxis? Or is anyone on a morning flight 12th August and possibly would share? Any help or ideas out there!!

Kathy, what the call a big taxi in Rhodes is a large Mercedes and they are restricted to 4. There are 8 seaters available but only by private hire. Try Googling these and see how the price equates with two taxis. You might be lucky and pick up a driver who is willing to squeeze in another "small one" as you are only taking hand luggage but it is inly a big "if" and many of the drivers are not altogether chuffed at having to go to KS in any case. A sharing would work if you can make the contact. Good luck.
