Hi Snoopy! Nothing much changes here and the rooms will be lovely. You are assured a great time, and best yet, fishing will be available if you want to give it a go. Anyway you will meet lots of new friends, and probably eat and drink too much. Enjoy!

Thanks Liz and Kinygos. All up for a bit of fishing. As i live two minutes from the sea i do fish and sometimes come home with loads of mackerel. never managed a codling however. Can't wait to visit Halki - the quiet really appeals. Only 40+ weeks to go!!!!

I used to be a hooker...
I played for Guy's Hospital Extra Beers!
A famous team, we never won a game, but the post match party...!
Those were the days!
Now I have a dodgy back, knee, and ankle, but it was worth it! I understand that Carol is going down the gym so that Sandra won't show her up in 2013. Snoopy is in line for the pink hat which Daisy desires so much. So sad, the green eyed monster is a terrible companion!

Sorry i have not thanked those who have replied. Got flooded out on 23 December 2012 and have just got my home and life back. Can't wait until September to be in Halki and peace and quiet. Is the snorkelling and swimming good and safe and can i catch up on three months loss of sleep in the apartments?

Is the snorkelling and swimming good and safe and can i catch up on three months loss of sleep in the apartments? Dear Floydie, that's a real bummer, especially just before Christmas - anyway you are now back and can start to recover. I can only answer 'Yes, as far as these things can ever be regarded as safe' to your question. Enjoy your Halki downtime, you have good reasons to have break - the only issue to consider in your water pursuits would be if you've knocked back the amount of metaxa you'd like to take home in another post - not that I represent the Health and Safety police ! We will be there mid Sept, our favourite time. JtB

hi floydie glad you are getting your life back together, we lost our home of 24 years to a flood back in 2007, it took us 2 years to get it sorted with the insurance co., so can understand the lack of sleep. can remember that huge " all is better now" sigh when we got back to greece for the first time after. have a great time. we are staying at the kiki late june.

Well hello everyone and thanks for ALL your replies re Halki appartments. Looking at the pic i get the impression it is a double mousanda? If this is the case daughter wont be well pleased so is the sofa comfortable - serious question by the way!! I notice i forgot my user name and have been doubling as floydieboy aka snoopy1. Sorry about that. Now over flooding but have five - yes five flood gates to put in place when there is a flood warning!! Re mortared round the outside of the cottage, gates in place and waterproof painted up to a height of four feet. Isn't life wonderful? Now just marking time to Halki. About 9 weeks to go so getting really excited now as once you are in single figures then it is really within grasp. Here in n.e. Scotland it is low temperatures for June and the last few days we have had a lot of the wet stuff so again two weeks of blue skies and hot sun are much needed. If we enjoy this stay as much as we think we will we are thinking of three weeks next year. Overambitious?? Again thanks for words of support and all advice and yes i will get a pink hat and come fishing.

Hi snoopy 1, I am so pleased for you that you are now straight after the flood, it must have been terrible. Excuse my ignorance but I have no idea what a double mousanda is, I expect it is the open platform shown in the photo taken by my o/h Red Rose Exile. Did you click on his slideshow link under the photo of the white cat? It's easy to miss, but shows more photos of Kiki, I will repost here: More photos of Kiki. As mentioned elsewhere, we found Kiki delightful & well equipped, only a few minor drawbacks, the pros well outnumber the cons: Upstairs is hot, however you have the option of paying for aircon so can remedy that. They are a little on the dark side and those open plan stairs, when mixed with alcohol, can give bruising on the legs (or there again perhaps that was just me ) I believe the sofa beds are comfortable as I seem to remember RRE having a few siestas downstairs. I see on another post you mentioned Symi, are you snoopy2 who was talking about dinner plate sized, suitcase carrying spiders? on the Symi forum. Enjoy, your stay, I am sure you will anyway and I hope you catch a fish.

It is indeed me snoopy2 when on Symi and snoopy1 when on Halki. Actually i haven't been able to connect to the Symi forum for months - don't know what is happening there. Are there spiders the size of dogs on Halki? If there are i will book a couple to take suitcases to and from KiKi. Don't mind about the apartment being dark - we aim to spend as much time out as we can. Yes a mousanda is a traditional sleeping platform - hope i have the spelling right. Will take one week upstairs bashing the shins and one week falling on the sofa. Week on week off as no way will daughter share a bed with me or visa versa. I did ask Olympic if it was twin bedded and they said yes. Past experience with Olympic leaves me totally unsurprised by that fib!! Thanks for the good wishes and info. Have we met in the flesh so to speak?

snoopy 1 according to the Olympic website there are double & twin bedded studios at Kiki, if your invoice says twin then you that is most likely what you will get. If for some reason you don't. then you would need to ask for sheets for the sofa bed. Kiki studios Re connecting to the Symi forum, they removed defectors More seriously they appear to have an over ambitious anti spam software. I couldn't get on either as it had been decided I was a spammer when I tried to post some photos and use my own smilies, I exceeded some limit apparently All I did was email Allan on this addyand he sorted it for me. i don't think we did meet, did we? I was there with my o/h for the first two weeks in May over Easter staying in Chorio. I have a different user name on the Symi forum, I am sure you can work it out. Enjoy!
