I'd be interested to get a report from anyone who has recently returned from Halki to Gatwick on the Wednesday Easyjet flight scheduled to depart Rhodes at 12.30. In particular, any info on the following questions would be useful. Did the morning ferry leave comfortable time to get to the airport? Did you check-in with hold baggage or use on-line check-in? What time did the ferry leave? Did you use a pre-booked taxi or minibus from KS? We (a group of four) are outbound on 22 Sept on the 0555 flight (ugh!) from LGW, back 29 Sept on the 1230 return. Hope to meet some of the "September lot" at lunchtime at KS on 22nd or at Costa's later!

Muriman, I too would be interested in that feedback eventually. I tussled long and hard with that idea before opting for the pm Easyjet Gatwick departure and overnighting in Rhodes. Late arrival back in Gatwick but at least there is some leeway should there be a hitch leaving Halki.

My daughter & boyfriend got back a couple of weeks ago. They caught the early ferry wednesday ferry at 8ish, were met by a pre-booked taxi & got to the airport before 10.30. Well, so they say............

Thanks, pda, that's helpful and reassuring for us and for janeandtony. In previous years using later TC or Monarch flights I've not pre-booked a taxi as there's been plenty of spare time to wait for whatever comes, and so avoid the high charge for the outward trip which the drivers seem to add if pre-booked. But this time, to get the the earlier Easyjet flight, not pre-booking a taxi may be a bit of a gamble too far.

Muriam when we returned in July Jane (at Zifos) booked the taxi for us and it was a fixed price of 50 euros. All went very smoothly and we were at the airport by about 10.30 as pda said, so as long as there are no hold ups on the way things should be fine.

We are planning on prebooking taxi for the return journey. We return on the 22nd. Could not face leaving Halki the night before! We fly out on the 0555 on 8th Sept if anyone is interested in taxi share? No prob if not, John can afford it..

Think this is the way we will go next year as the Thompson Flight at 7 am Gatwick is a horrendous price at the moment See Di has posted on cost of flights too Well thought I would check out the return timings yesterday and even though we caught the second ferry we would still have made the 12-30 Easyjet Flight and it left on time unlike the TC Gatwick and Manchester Flights Gatwick just over a hour Machester 4 hours plus and a refuel at Rimini I would catch the earlier ferry just to have that little bit longer but gates didn't close until well after 11-30

Friends of ours were on the 12:30 Easy Jet to Gatwick. Took second ferry with Nissia, taxi was late and they left KS at 10:10 (taxi returned for us at 11:05) and they got away no problems. PS Why am I back here??
