Is it possible to fly out with one airline and back with another?
The other thread about the new Jet2 flight from East Midlands starting next year got me thinking. It's OK for us in May/June but when we go in September we're there for the first week in October and the Jet2 flight has stopped by then.
Would we be able to fly out with Jet2 and come back with, say, Viking?
Has anyone ever done this? Pros and cons?

hi, should be no problem, check the prices for "one-way-flights" if you book online. Then compare it with the "round-trip-price".
I do it often, when it is cheaper. (for example: I can do it from Germany with Ryan Air via Milano to Rhodes for 49 Euro and back from Kos with Ryan Air for 69 Euro or with Tui fly back from Rhodos ) No problem to mix the flights.

We have certainly used different airlines to and from Rhodes in the past, although that was not by choice (missed the homeward flight).
However it is quite possible to to book one way tickets these days through the internet, we quite often book early flights from the uk, then rather than return on the same flight book a later flight homeward, albeit with the same airline. That is very handy way of doing it if you have ferries to catch once in Greece, arrive early to catch ferry but then have extra time in case of delays in ferry timetable homeward.

Its not a problem going out, some of the charter types are not as easy to book t'other way. Try Aegean to Heathrow via Athens or to Athens & then Easyjet to Gatwick or Manchester. My week planned for Nov is costing at £180 return with Easyjet to & from Athens then Aegean to/from Rhodes. Make sure the flights link with ferries from Halki out of season to avoid overnighting in Rhodes.
