Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm!
OK so what's wrong with Bream, salad & fresh bread, and a glass (or two) of chilled white?

;DI was joking kinygos! Of course potatoes won't clog up your arteries, but i've started a low-carb diet so potatoes, bread, pasta & rice are a definite no-no. However i can eat the cheese, bacon onions and garlic...which may clog up my arteries but gets the weight off! Strangely enough though,it's supposed to lower your cholesterol.

Can't get wine either for another week. No alcohol at all.

I hope that you are refering to the bream and not cholesterol spud! Just had a fish stew with the second half of a small hake with spud carrot, onion, chilli, celeriac & spinach. I can feel the blood surging through my coronary arteries as I write!
However the chilled white is probably not doing me much good!

Of all the food we have tasted whilst we have been on Halki, the Black Sea's Potato au gratin is one of thee best dishes we have ever tasted, it just hits the spot (no matter what is in it and however it is cooked) time after time and year after year, abit like the garlicky aubergine starter that was served up at Remezzo's..... oh, and any one of the lurvely dishes served up at the Grille.......... Sod any diet, enjoy yourself - thats what holidays are for.
Right, where's that fish.

Hi Livanios, thank you for explaining what has happened to your taverna, I know it has been a favourite of many of us on here for a long time. We very much enjoyed sitting on the terrace of the hotel in the late afternoon having a drink and we shall look forward to it even more if we can enjoy your food once again ;D I wish you every success and look forward to seeing you in september ;D

My friend Livanios is not at the Black Sea anymore, but it is a fact that Tamazi and Hatuna are rocking the place now! Hope to see everyone really soon while I'm there, including Livanios! I still remember that huge fish Tamazi prepared for me 2 ways, last October, soup and grilled.
He prepared it on his own by the way, Ha tuna wasn't there, just to give the guy some extra credit!
Truth be said, there are many tavernas on the island with freshly prepared Greek food, doing justice to the normally great produce we've got over here...
