We were thinking of booking our flight from Birmingham to Rhodes fairly soon but on checking the price it has risen by £70 overnight per person Now not sure what to do, anyone got any inside information as to whether this is due to Christmas bookings etc thanks ;D

I don't know whether you are aware of the nasty little tricks that some of the online travel business play on us. The main one is your cookies on your PC. See this page for an explanation, The travel industry deny it, because they may be using an even more dubious technique of using demand sensing algorithms. basically this works out how many hits a page has had, and increases the price in line with the number of hits. Basically, it assumes that page hits equal demand, therefore in terms of the basic laws of economics, the greater the demand, the higher the price. Also if you are an independent traveller, it is worth looking at flight consolidation sites, although these tend not to look at the real budget airlines, ryanair, easyjet and jet2 It has been suggested that if you re-visit a webpage to check prices, clear out your cookies and reduce the number of times that you visit the site, take the first price you are offered, or wait until the next round of price reduction emails come out from the bargain basement airlines

hi, does Ryan Air fly to Rhodes from GB ? I just booked a 9 Euro !! return- Flight from Germany to Rhodes for May 19th. Did it now for the second time. Last year I used Ryan Air to go via Kos to Halki. (No problem to go to Halki from Kos with the Catamaran) The flights were always OK, not overbooked (free seats) friendly people and exactly on time ! Have only hand-luggage (10 kg) enough for 1 week. No problems with anything. (I know .... the former discussion about Ryan Air - lots of people avoid to use Ryan Air - but its OK for frequent Halki traveler) Maria
