During countless years holidaying in Halki, we absolutely loved it until last years influx of day trippers. As there are few posts regarding day trippers this year it seems that the problem no longer exists, or perhaps, nobody goes to Pondamos any more.
Very interested, because memsahib and I might just have found a belated window of opportunity with the dreaded Olympic.
Any latest news re day trippers would be very welcome. If Ftenagia is now a sanctuary we are not averse. Nick, Angelo, etc are family but the rocks and water are a challenge for my wife. However, we will adapt and overcome!!
We are anxious, to meet old Halkiot friends again, to try the Grillhouse and to watch the ANEK ferry before it disappears around to the new harbour. Such very simple aspirations but crucial in ones retirement.

Day trippers have been discussed at length on here -unfortunately we do tend to go off topic on this board so I'm afraid I couldn't direct you to the relevant place  I think it depends what time of year you go as to how much it bothers you |

Anek or any other passenger ferries will not use the new harbour. It is freight only.

Yes still day trippers end of May beginning of June but not near as bad as 2008.Where do you fly from, we have travelled with Olympic from Manchester the last 3 years and booked with them again for 2010 and had great service.On arrival at Rhodes they immediately get you a taxi and your whisked down to KS,, on return journey there is another taxi to take you to an hotel in Rhodes if you have a few hours to kill before flight then picked up later for transfer to airport so like a nice day trip, and you never see a rep until your on airport transfer coach which to me is time enough lol
