Hi just wanted to know what to expect at Ftenagia this summer as we arrive july 29th , previously we have always gone mid June. all this talk of day trippers and how busy the island is getting is panicking me a bit. Has Nic built more houses? and what does he charge for the beds now?, does he still do the Sat evening meals with music?
anyother updates please let me know Rollo McGrath

Hi Rollo
We used to go over the May half term but also now forced to go the same two weeks as you. It just isn't the same laid back and peaceful place in August as it is at other times.
We went on 23rd July last year and the first week wasn't very busy but the second week was more crowded. It wasn't too bad though, although the volume of day trippers did spoil about half the days at Pondamos. I believe that it gets busiest in the second to fourth weeks in August; so I shouldn't panic too much. I think we'll miss the very worst.
The sunbeds were 6 Euros a pair with crummy brolly at both beaches last year. Beware some of the brollies at Ftenagia - some are thin and made of a mesh material and aren't very sun proof. Don't let the kids frazzle!
See you there rollo! Only two weeks to go....

Hi Rollo - we were there for he last two weeks in August - the first week I have to say there were quite a few extra peeps on the beach -sunbed patrol was vigilant ;D
we stayed in the first house at Ftenagia ( I think there were five) there may be a couple more now -they were only full for the festival .
Nic wasn't open in the evenings whilst we were there

Hi Rollo, unfortunately Nick hasnt opened in the evenings for the last couple of years. Simon got my hopes up by saying he was open but it was apparently only for the big conference Saturday Kikis mums new taverna, next to Avra sometimes has children dancing and Kiki playing the Mandolin, we are looking forward to seeing that and sampling the food of course ;D
