All went well regarding our flight change on June 24th. We collected our tickets at Gatwick and the flight to Rhodes all went according to plan. When we arrived we were put in a taxi down to the port (no hanging about the airport this time) and sat and had a leisurely lunch then caught the early ferry (paid 10 euros but was our choice to get to Halki ASAP) We were in Halki by 6pm ;D ;D We really can't fault TC it was all really well organized, much better than last year.
When we returned yesterday after two wonderful weeks in Halki the organisation was just as good. The ferry was met by the coach (no waiting around) then off to the airport. When we boarded the plane it was an Alitalia plane which was replacing an out of action TC plane and it was great- comfortable, more leg room, and free drinks!!!!!
So I know that I said never again with TC (apart from September which was already booked) but this time they were excellent so who knows maybe next year..........

Glad to hear that ...so they can do it right when they put their minds to it ... ;D It does restore your faith to hear reports like yours

So pleased to hear it all went well, your two weeks seemed to fly by, hopefully not so fast for you ;D From what we have heard in your absence it will be Manos from next year, all part of the TC company and not Dg, did you hear anything about it changing while you were there ?

Thank you Carol and yes the two weeks did go far too quickly!!!
We heard something about Manos going to Halki next year but it was all a bit vague (or was that me?) ;D ;D ;D

No you are right, Manos are I believe part of the TC group and from what I understand the Direct Greece name will no longer be used but the island will be marketed under Manos instead. I think that is correct but someone else may know more.

In September, are you booked on the 07.40 flight from Gatwick ? ;D

Hi Carol,yes,that's right.I think i said on another thread that they have cut out flights from scotland but we'll soldier on to manchester as it's worth it to go to wonderful halki ;D
Thay have cut down drastically on the properties too
There only seem to be 4 to choose from as opposed to 13 this year.Hopefully,they will invest in some more...they must! ;D

4 hardly seems worth bothering with does it ? Like you say they must surely increase that, goodness when I think back to how many DG had years ago, Jane and Sheila both had to show people to their accomodation there were so many, times have changed and not for the better methinks

I just hope they hang onto them and don't stop halki altogether.
That would be a disaster!

Dont worry Sunfun there are plenty of properties available independantly, I am sure if they do pull out, and some of us have been expecting it for a couple of years now, you will still find somewhere to stay. We are going independant for the first time this year and also next year at least this way we can choose where we fly from and the time of our flight and I know our accomodation is 1st class because we have already viewed it ;D

Yes we are sunfun and we can't wait!!! I'm back at work today and the post Halki depression is setting in!!!!
