Tom G there are only 4 studios in Kalliopi, two downstairs, two upstairs. All have sea/harbour views. Obviously the upstairs ones have better views, but the downstairs ones are nice anyway. We stayed there last year, and have no complaints.

Hi tomg
I just got back last week and also flew from Glasgow with Olympic Holidays and stayed at Kaliopi. It was the first time I've gone with Olympic as I always went with DG in the past. It wasn't too bad, they took me to the Hotel Kassandra in Ixia on the Wed night, got there just after midnight, the room was pretty basic but the bus picked us up at 8.30am and the ferry left at 10am so got to Halki 11.15. The Kaliopi Studios were fine, I was in one of the upstairs ones and my invoice also said "inland view" The front balcony looked out to sea and there was also a balcony at the back door. Coming back we left on the ferry at 8am and taken back to the Hotel Kassandra so it was a long long wait, got picked up 9.30pm. I'm going back on 29th Sept and will book a room at the Hotel Kassandra so at least I can get a sleep in the afternoon. There were showers available downstairs at the hotel but to be honest they weren't very clean so I didn't bother, I would advise you try to get a room - not sure how much it would be to book there but I did a google search when I came back and to book a room for 1 night was £19.50 but I don't know if it will be the same hotel in Sept/Oct it might be worth asking Olympic? Let me know if you need any more info and I'll try to help

Dawn and Cathy, thank you both so much for your reassurance, it is very much appreciated. Sorry to take so long to respond, but we have been away in the Lake District for a holiday and I did not take my laptop.
I did rather wonder when it stated INLAND VIEW on the invoice, but I suspect that has more to do with the tour operators not knowing what they are talking about (nothing new there).
It is good to hear that there is a chance we will reach Halki by 11:15am. When we asked Olympic, they said that they thought the ferry would leave Rhodes at about 2:30pm (another wasted day as far as I was concerned). The reason for holidaying here was so that we could return to Halki so I was not particularly pleased to find that the time on the Island was being reduced to 5 and a half days.
We will be staying at the Solimar in Ixia during our second week but as the flight home is so late we will need to ask about keeping on the room until we get picked up.
Thank you both for your help with this.
Tom

Have a lovely holiday Tom. Thank you so much Dawn, I really appreciate the information you supplied. Thankfully, the people who go to Halki know more about the Island than the Tour operators do. We are really excited about returning to Halki, only 11 and a half weeks to go - woo hoo. Kind regards, Tom and Sylvia
