My brother has used Manos many times and always found them to be excellent to go with. ;D Hopefully that will also be true with Halki! ;D ;D

We travelled with Manos many years ago to Skiathos and they were fine, lets just hope that the airport organisation improves and they actually tell their staff where Halki actually is !! It will be interesting to see which properties they retain and if any new ones appear ;D

Sunfun, I might be misunderstanding your comment but can you not fly from Edinburgh on Thomas Cook/Direct Greece/Manos flight as we do?
Perhaps I didn't read the thread properly!

:)Hi Lynn.We flew from edinburgh this year(our first visit). Sadly, they are not doing an edinburgh flight next year, that's why we are going to manchester. When i phoned to book, there was a block on the flight, which means that it doesn't look like they will be doing it for halki, but if that changes, they will amend our flight for free. I think there are flights to rhodes, but not for halki. The brochure is printed at least a year in advance,so that's why it still looks available. We're hoping that they'll put edinburgh back on,but as long as we're getting there, that's all that matters!

I've just looked at the Manos brochure and they have taken over the Direct Greece role in Halki. But they only have four properties available in their brochure at the moment. There may be more later, but it's very sad.

David I have to agree, we have always had such great service from DG in the past, unfortunately now the big boys are involved ie Thomas Cook and Manos it has lost the personal touch that made it so special.

We're going with Manos in May (didn't really have any choice). We've travelled loads of times with Manos as they used to be the only package firm that you could go for 3 weeks with, and never had any problems - fingers crossed

:)They can't be that bad if you've travelled with them loads of times Di. As long as they get us all there, that'll do nicely! ;D

We have booked with TC travelling from Glasgow on 8th Sep. The flight time is horrible (16:20 fom Glasgow arriving in Rhodes at 22:40. We have to stay in Rhodes overnight (I assume we will be told where when we get to Rhodes), then travel to Halki from Rhodes Harbour on the 9th Sep. Not amused as it means 1 day less on Halki. Last time we went with DG in Sep 2008, we arrived in time to get the last Halki ferry (much better).
We will be in Kaliopi Studios - the paperwork states STUDIO 2/2 INLAND VIEW. Not particularly happy about the view, but this was the only accomodation that TC could offer when we booked in Jan.
Does anyone know what that paricular studio is like?

:)Hi tomg. Are you sure it isn't olympic that you've booked with? I'm think that is who has that accomodation and also that tc don't make you stay overnight in rhodes, but olympic do. We had to travel from manchester this year as we couldn't get an edinburgh flight, and as far as i'm aware, they didn't fly from glasgow. Try looking at trip advisor or holidaytruthand see if you can get any info.Hope this helps.

Hi Sunfun, you are correct, we are with Olympic, however, we booked it through TC and will be flying with TC Airlines from Glasgow. Olympic are another one under the TC banner (seems like they all are). We booked with Olympic because we wanted a week on Halki and a week on Rhodes. Olympic seemed to be the only ones offering this option. I think next time we will try the independent option. I will have a look at Holidaytruths, thanks for the suggestion, much appreciated.
