Not been to arillas but have been to San Stefanos ( not to be confused with Agios Stefanos which is were we actually thought we were going ! ) which is close by ...lovely coastline ...nice beaches but a hell of a drive from the airport ...we only went on the last minute for a week and all the people said how quiet it was ...but we compared it to Halki  Brilliant waterpark ...but the mozzies are ruthless  |

:)Thanks Liz.I take it the drive means those crazy hairpin bends! Can be scary! Did you find it quite relaxing though? I know it won't come anywhere near the beautiful halki,but a cheap week? |

we had a week somewhere quite quiet in the north of the island a few years ago, I can't remember what the place was called, but it was a really nice holiday - the only bad bit was a day trip to Corfu town on a crowded non-air conditioned bus ...we all felt travel sick when we got there, then had the return trip to look forward too!  Apart from that, it was a very nice place to be ;D ;D Go for it!! |

:)Hi Kathy.We've been on a bus like that...and i puked up in a carrier-bag! Thank God i had one with me! ;D Why on earth do they put people in buses like that? Mind you,since that happened,if it's a rough road,i tend to take a travel-sickness pill...to be on the safe side |

To be honest no it wasn't a cheap week at all ...alot of the tavernas seemed to have set menus and we found it a bit pricey ...the beach was lovely - our first night we sat on a pontoon drinking wine watching a thunderstorm ( very health and safety ...not ) The beaches were lovely but it was the traffic that spoilt it for us - you get used to no cars on Halki and to sit at the roadside was a complete bummer ! I know we've done that before on other islands ..but we just kept saying ''but its not Halki is it '' ;D and yes the hairpin bends are a killer ..I thought Kefalonia was bad ..but Corfu beat that hands down |
