Very good idea Muriman, it may well be wise to do a bit of research before you leave, have a great holiday and we look forward to seeing you both at Gatwick in September, looks like the holiday will definitely be starting early this year ;D

Thomas Cook are totally unreliable and anyone using this airline (or Easyjet) must realise that they may be very, very late travelling in either direction! It cost me an extra day's annual leave (for nothing, just to recover from being up for 26 hours (!))and whilst I would like to write them a nasty letter, I don't think it would have any effect. I used First Choice last September to fly into and out of Rhodes, caught taxi to and from Kamiros Skala, then onto the Halki Express (the first caique which arrived at KS) - all relatively easy. It is much nicer if you can catch a willing taxi down to KS rather than being forced to sit in Paradiso waiting for all the other planes to arrive before the DG/TC coach leaves. Everyone else is right, TC doesn't care about us Halki Visitors and are extremely unhelpful. Last year a TC rep jumped on our coach and announced that we were off to Rhodes harbour! Plenty of squarks from the old Halki lovers who chorused that we were off to Kamiros Skala. Proves they haven't a clue! To Anne & Peter who shared our taxi last Wednesday, glad to hear you got home eventually but what a long, long day and night! Its sad that we will have to drop DG after nearly 10 years of travelling with them, but I fear this will be the case for a lot of us and also that DG seem to have lost a lot of their Halki harbour villas.

Well I don't think I will travell with them after this September either as a package or a flight only .

They have absolutely no idea at all about anything and I am surprised in this economic climate that they maage to survive at all.

It will not come as a shock that TC were named as the 3rd worst airline for delays last year, in the U.K. , beaten only by My Travel & First Choice - they all featured in the world top 10 worst too!
Avoid Air India!!

Sorry Muriman I got it wrong yesterday when I said that the return flight stayed the same. I phoned TC/DG this morning to double check the flights and we ARE on the earlier flight coming back on July 8th- leaving Rhodes at 14.45 which is good as we will be getting the same ferry regardless of the flight time, so hopefully it means less time at Rhodes airport. Fingers crossed...... not long now

Hey I have just thought of a new name for TC, but I can't really repeat it on here so I will leave it up to your imagination (Quiet but succinct chuckle:-))

Although I'm a bit mystified, Jane and Tony, by your mention of phoning to find out return flight time (surely this is specified on your tickets? Oh, maybe you are having to collect tickets at Gatwick?) it's good to know it seems to be sorted, the earlier flight back should be more convenient.

I used Monarch in May and it worked OK, only problem was such a big Airbus with hundreds of pax the baggage took ages to appear at Gatwick.
