Hi Kinygos. You could be right, probably the lengthy boat trip was part of it,there and back in a day is a lot, particularly if its a rough crossing. Maybe if I had stayed there rather than just day trips I would have got to know it better and liked it more ...it has been mentioned that its good for those who enjoy walking ( I don't!!!) To me it lacked the prettiness of Halki's picturesque harbour. It's not that I can't see past Halki either, over the years I have been to lots of other islands and enjoyed them, although Halki will always be the special one that captured my heart! ;D ;D

I did but don't know how to show them! I gather they have to be on the net and I just point to them.......somehow........maybe? you have to host them somewhere photobucket or flikr or facebook even ..then you can either link to them or you can post them on here

We have got some from a couple of years ago, will try to get Graeme to post some. We went on the Proteus on a fairly calm day and really enjoyed it, had lunch in the old village and then caught the bus back down to the harbour area, thought it was quite pretty really, not Halki but then nothing ever compares really. Meant to go again last year but as usual could not tear ourselves away, did get to Alimnia though and hopefully will do the same again this year, has anyone been there yet ?

We went to tilos last Sunday on the catamaran. It cost 26 euros each and took 40 mins. Quite costly we thought but a much quicker voyage which we were thankful for under the circumstances - it was very windy as Kinygos states and not a pleasant thing if your not a good traveler like myself . However, we were there for 7 hours and able to get a good look round. As Kathy states it does lack the prettiness of Halki but there was something very nice about the place. We really liked it and maybe will holiday there some time in the future.

I think I have a handle on this picture thing. It should be my boat in Tilos harbour.

North; that's as far as it goes. South; it goes on round the bay like Emborio + Ftenagia + Pondamus & more without the headlands in between. Road back from the restaurant.
