Hi folks We're thinking about going back to Halki in May next year but aren't quite sure what the weather will be like. I know you always take a chance early in the season, but we're working on the basis that the further south you go, the more likely it is to be nice and sunny. We'd probably be thinking of going around the 12th. Can anyone who's been then give me some pointers please

Hello Di, Lisa and Cathy were both out there in May, Lisa went about that date and it sounded like they had very good weather but I will text Lisa and get her on here to reply to you. Hope you had a good holiday, xx

Thanks Carol, yes we had a great holiday, hope you did too. Weather on Lesvos was pretty good (two cloudy days) but you know me - I'm a hog for heat ;D ;D

Hi Di - have been to Halki in May before. The sun is lovely and warm, sea cold (but that doesn't change too much!) and I would suggest a cardigan or light jacket for the evenings - they can sometimes be a little chilly. Apart from that, it's sun, sun, sun as usual! xx

Hi Di
Apologies for the delay. We were there from 13th to the 27th. The weather was excellent most of the time, temp in the high 20's and even the sea was ok for swimming. We had one day when it was quite cloudy with some showers and a couple of days of wind when you had to be careful not to get burnt. It really is a lovely tim eof year to be there.

Di, I guess it depends on how you are likely to spend your time. We were there 13-20 May and weather was fine, pleasantly warm and sunny except for a bit of cloud and a few spits of rain on one day. The sea was swimmable, but chilly - thus if you like it to be a bit more comfortable in temperature for swimming I suggest late May, perhaps into early June, might be better. From experience of October and May, I reckon the sea is warmer in early October than in mid May.
I see from your post, Lisa, that you were there for two weeks from 13th - didn't see you in last year's haunt in the Erah/Nitsa area, Lisa - you must have been somewhere "on the other side"?

Yes, we stayed on the 'other side'. I must apologise as I think that we passed you one day, think you were in Nitsa with friends? It was'nt until later that I put names to faces and then did'nt see you again! ;D

No need to aplogise, Lisa - I'm pretty terrible at recognising people and putting names to faces anyway! Yes, we were in Nitsa (and introduced friends to Halki).
