Hi everyone
I got back last night after 2 perfect weeks on Halki. Harbour is back to normal and you wouldn't know it had all been dug up. Couple of wee changes, Remezzo's is no longer a pizzeria, it now does fish and vegetarian dishes. I only ate there once but was impressed with the menu - lots of choice. There is now a creperie down the side of Theodosia's on the way to Nissia office - can't report on that as I didn't go - not enough time! Kiki's mum's place is really good, Kiki does the serving and her brother does the grilll, I ate there 3 times and always good. Everywhere else is the same and didn't seem to be any difference in the prices from last year.
Can't think of anything else just now so better get on with the holiday washing as not long til I have to pack again - I go back on 1st July for 1 week.

Thanks Cathy, great to get an update. I'm pleased the harbour is back to normal. Which/where is Kiki's mum's place? I don't recall it from last year. I assume that Kiki is still doing her nurse's role at the doctors and helps her mum in the evenings. Otherwise it seems to be = As you were = . which is great.

OK - got it. My good lady informs me that Kiki's mum is Lefkosia, and that a previous post stated she had taken over the Omonia (blue chairs) taverna.

The minibus is up and running again. I don't think the new harbour is being used yet - something about the boats can't get in because of the electricity cable, I could be wrong about this though.
A couple of other things the Diafora shop has closed down and there is going to be a new jewellery shop attached to the supermarket which is just along from what used to be Omonia - I don't know when it will open but it's supposed to be selling high quality gold and silver jewellery.
I'll keep adding posts when I remember things.

Has the floating pontoon re-appeared in the harbour ? T'was missing last year and it looked as if it was washed up on Alyminia.

For Fatcat: I'm not sure what you mean by the floating pontoon. If you mean the yacht jetty pontoon, part of it was lifted into the harbour from the quayside and floated into position on about 18th-19th May, without the part which goes across the end to make a T-shape, though it's probably in position by now.

I see your confusion - sorry, no the pontoon I'm referring to is the one in isolation normally tethered to the sea bed off Hiona, it's about 5m x 2m and great to swim out to and even better to be on when the Lane Lines boat comes in.................
