Myself and my wife, Penny, got married on Halki four years ago and visit every year (sometimes twice). We are due to arrive on the island this year in mid July and we are already counting the days!!! I was really upset when I tried to check the Halki Visitor site to find it not available. However every cloud has a silver lining because I have now found this wonderful FORUM that will allow us even more contact with the island we love and the people who share that love. I first saw Halki from a ferryboat en-route to Karpathos way back in 1978 and that fleeting glimpse was love at first sight. Little was I to know that I was to marry on that very island many years later (or maybe I did in some deep way). Thank you to whover is responsible for setting up this FORUM. I am sure that Penny and I will be visiting regularly as the countdown to our return changes from weeks to days! Tony www.anthonypeake.com

Welcome Ferryman and Penny, Liz ( our leader ) started this board last year after the demise of the old one supposedly as a temporary stopgap until the old board sorted itself out, well, we are still here, and it has been fairly plain sailing and hopefully we are giving like minded people a bit of help and advice when needed and also having a bit of a giggle and not taking ourselves too seriously. You are more than welcome and we look forward to further contributions from you ;D ;D

I for one would be quite happy if the old site remains dead and buried.

I for one would be quite happy if the old site remains dead and buried. I second that - and I was banned for not liking football (well, sort of). Great little place here, friendly and warm. 'yob from Essex'.
