Well haven't beern on for a while blame it on the new puppy (yes Carol you have read that right) will ring you and fill you in ;D
But this thread is soooooo interesting 2001 was our first year and I will be eternally grateful to a couple we met the year before on Paros that told us about Halki.
It is truly the most wonderful island and like the others have said I cannot imagine how you will feel kathy as the harbour comes in to view for the first time in so many years.
I too cry on arrival and departure.

my first trip to Halki was 1989 - (parents started going there from 1987) - it's my most favourite place in the whole wide world! Even my children love it - they say it's better than Disneyworld! Just waiting for that big win on the lottery to buy my house (next to Ariadne - the very old dilapidated one on the harbour front) - and then I'll be happy ;D
I too cry on arrival and on departure xx

Been going since 1998 and seen plenty of changes but the basic Halki never changes - always a quiet corner, a friendly face and a custard pie for breakfast from Dimitri! For various reasons I haven't been for nearly 3 years now and have withdrawal symptoms so am coming, alone, in 3 weeks for some much needed R&R. Fingers crossed I got my flights, hotel on Rhodes and ferry sorted!!!
