Harbour Works

Hi Everyone.
Just wondered if anyone knows the latest on the harbour works. Have they been completed and the harbour restored to its lovely normal self ?
Fortunately we left just in time to miss the start of them last September (though saw some of the preparations) but read on here how horrendous it was for later visitors
We've already got our September 09 stay safely booked but would rather make sure that 'peace has been restored' before maybe booking our early season break !!!
I see that pda will be off soon and hopefully will give us the 'low down' but just wondered if anyone stayed long enough last season to say if everything settled down or not.

I heard from someone who lives on Halki at the end of January and it certainly did not sound like it was finished or anywhere near, as you say, pda is going soon and will certainly report back and I will try to find out more details as well. Hopefully it is planned to be completed before the season starts but nothing is ever certain in Greece

There is a new swimming pool on the harbour that is from the side of the Parrot bar, past post office, the kiosk and runs past Petros shop & nearly to road. Due to storms there are problems with filling it in apparently but its supposed to be finished in a month or so.
Don't hold your breath. Could be the new "hotel rebuild"
