Usual collection of shots taken in the first couple of weeks in July. Colour Film collection is larger than normal as I shot 3 rolls, one having been only just started when our cruise round South America came to grief due port closures and being a different style to my usual choice, there will be a lot similar shots taken later in the fortnight as both a comparison between the different films and as an insurance against any deterioration having been left in the camera for 15 months unrefrigerated. That album can be seen here
I usually divide my shots between those taken in and around the village and those beyond it. We only walked over to Kania the once and I didn't take too many shots as little had changed. So the digital images, taken with one of my full frame bodies, are in one album only and can be found here: Halki 2021 (Digital)There will a third album when I process the 2 rolls of Black & White film I shot, assuming I don't mess up the chemistry and use out of date developer like I did with a roll I shot in Jordan Christmas before last.
There are a lot of small changes (and a few more obvious ones) that have happened over the last 2 years since we were last on Halki and hopefully I've captured most of them. With a few obvious exceptions, the images were all captured between 06.30 and 07.30 on my way to get our daily bread rations from Demitri's

Steve, that's a great collection of photos, and good to see for those of us with planned trips cancelled during the past year or more! I tried to post this a long time ago but have had problems getting into this site, for what seem to be technical reasons which I've not been able to understand.
Regards, Graham (Saltford)

Thanks Liz and Graham for your kind comments. Black and White film album now past 2/3 mark. Lost 14 shots in total to some flaw in the film or may be the loading onto the drum in the day light tank I use. Film I used gives very contrasty images and needed a lot of 'dodging' (old darkroom speak) to get the best out them.
Can't have our usual pitch next year - appears to be some big family event on as no accommodation available at the eastern end of the waterfront and immediate hinterland for our slot - so moving to smaller unit very close to the pontoon. With the fast link to Karpathos now an option, we might nip down for a few days to give it look over. Suspect may also be a more frequent visitor to Kania as the terrace not so good for the boss to soak up the sun and then cool off in the sea.

I believe theres a few regulars who are having to find alternative accommodation next year .. but sometimes a shake up is a good thing

Last year was quite surreal - we had no-one in the cluster of 4 units we use apart from us. The old sponge warehouse, once Laskarina until they dropped it because of poor owner maintenance, was completely empty the whole fortnight. The complex behind had a few short stay lets but otherwise empty. Our friends of many years we've shared a communal patio probably won't be coming back, so some evolution was inevitable, even without the unwanted change of 'pitch'.
Whether the shake up will be a good thing, we'll have to see how it jells next year. It looks like the change will be permanent as the old property has now gone from the portfolio for the whole of next year, suggesting that it may in future only be bookable direct with the owner.
