Well, transfers all sorted by Litsa at MBC. Taxi both ways, an overnight stay at Althemenis on B&B basis and the Nissos Halki at 9.15 Thursday from KS, so a bit of a jump up from the original plans but Halki's worth it.

Well, we got here! Airport experience changed a bit in the time since the original post. Expect the lead person on the locator form to be given s lateral flow test on arrival. The other papers weren't checked, so anyone who paid for a fit to fly test didn't get a "pass". Baggage not so slick either - half came onto the carrocell immediately, then we had a 50 minute wait for the rest. Two aircraft coming in and leaving in close succession probably the reason.
Came over on the Halki with 3 coach loads of day trippers. Sebeco had 1 also . So that aspect of the island's economy seems as before. Resident visitors way down - we're the only ones in our group of 5 units.

OMG we've done it! When we read the post that tests were available on island and, presently, only one test required on arrival back in the UK, we took courage in both hands and made our booking. All things being equal we should be back in beautiful Halki on 15th September. So excited, can hardly wait.

we're going week after next ... eeeek ! .... so excited ... multiple cancellations .. but got some bargain flights to Kos and then the ferry over .. gets us over the same day as well .. which is a bonus for us .. this might be our new route .. testing all booked .. ready to go  |

How long is the ferry journey from Kos and does it stop anywhere else on the way?

Tom . Its 2hours 20 ( thats on the Cat ) ..And calls at Nisyros and Tilos .. not a bad journey at all .. Our timings are a bit tight but plan B would be to stay on Kos and get the SAOS over the next morning .. but the flight times are so much better for us .. if this goes well this may be our new route.

The way Olympic's prices have been going, even before covid, we may look to go independent after next year's visit. Good to have an alternative route of it should be required

Independant is so easy Tom .. and you have more flexibility with flights and accommodation ... its a lovely feeling to walk out of the airport into a taxi .. not waiting on other flights for a coach  |

We have gone independent before but it's going to be more often from now on due to the lack of choice from package companies.
More options for us and a fairer income for the accommodation owners. Win win 😎
