Well, here she is - Rosie. After we lost our cat we were heartbroken, so after a while we visited the cat rescue and found Rosie (she was called Duchess but the name just did not fit !!!). She is a grey tabby and is about 18 months old and has we think, had a pretty hard life. She had been at the cat rescue since May and she was in a pen shared with some boistrous young males, we took to her in a flash. She came from a home which she shared with several other male cats and had to stick up for herself, she ended up having a litter of kittens while at the cat rescue. Well, we have now had her for a month or so and she is just now starting to get her confidence and starting to play and be comfortable with us. We think she has not had much fuss made of her and is finding all the attention we want to give her a bit overwhelming. Anyway, more photo's to follow when we can pin her down.

She is gorgeous, thanks for the photo, it will take her a while to settle but I am sure she will be fine. Our two new additions have been with us for 5 months now, they are brown spotted tabbies, photo to follow, the smaller one, Smokey who we thought would never settle as he was so timid is now naughtier than William, they are about the same age as Rosie, it is lovely seeing how their personalities develop as they adapt to their new surroundings ;D We will have to compare cat photos in september of our new charges ;D

Thanks for the photo fatcat, she's just lovely. I'm sure she will settle in eventually, especially when she realises she's on to a good thing! And I'm really pleased you decided to give her a home - best thing all round.
Our little one, Craig, came to us as a stray when he was only about 2 or 3 months old, and only a day after our old cat died aged 17. It took several months before he was comfortable staying inside with the door shut and a whole year before he would stay in overnight, but now, a year later, he rules the roost. He's changed from a frightened timid little thing to a confident and most affectionate little chap and now has a string of female admirers, headed by Lisa who frequently sends him messages.
Craig and I will look forward to some more pics of Rosie.

It's quite sad really to see a cat not used to 'playing', when we first intoduced a piece of string to Rosie, she ran upstairs and hid under the bed. But now, she is getting used to that - she was even introduced to snow the other morning, quite funny actually......... we let her out into the back garden which is part decked and she lost her 4-paw grip and went all over the place, but soon came back in.
She want's affection but is just not confident enough yet to fully trust us.
We have the time and patience so it's not an issue, we are just happy to give a rescue cat a decent home.

She has obviously had quite a tough start in life, she is very lucky that she now has a good home and I am sure she will reward you with years of affection and pleasure ;D
