Just curious but I wonder why Alexis Tsipras was on the island earlier? I see he's moved on to Tilos now though. Any elections coming up?

I'm not sure why he was there but he caused quite a stir lots of excitement around the harbour front

Rose found a video of him arriving on the Fedon all horns blazing. Good to see him getting out and about. I wonder where he stayed on Tilos last night?

He likes Tilos and has stayed there several times. Stays in the same place. Last year he was in conversation with two regular Halki visitors and possibly wanted to have a look for himself. I believe he stated he would be calling a general election after the MEP elections last month.

Ah so maybe a mix of a meet and greet on Halki then some relaxation on Tilos?

No relaxation on Tilos! Full on election tour of the Dodecanese with a big speech on the harbour front here on Tilos last night. I did wonder what the excitement was as I watched from my balcony. Only found out this morning it was the PM! Election is next month BTW.

He does seem a decent chap, from what I've seen of him on TV that is. More than can be said for some of ours...... If he doesn't get elected I'd love to see him on question time Cheers. Tom and Rose

Elections are on 7 July. I was in the welcoming crowd on Saturday, found myself face to face, shook his hand and, on the spur of the moment on and behalf of visitors welcomed him to Halki !
