Hi I am returning to Chalki for the first time in ten years, bringing my new partner for the first time. We are due there for the August bank holiday, any recommendations for the festivities on the Island? Also flying on Saturday Arr. 1400 hrs will we transfer to Chalki on the day or delayed until the Sunday?

Hello, welcome back to Halki after your long break, I am afraid it is far to early to predict ferry times, they are normally published a month ahead but it seems you will be arriving in plenty of time for the festival. If you have been there before at that time you will know that the island is very busy and if you wish to see the festivities and dancing I would recommend that you book a table in advance at a taverna of your choice in order to get a good view. If there is anything else you need to know please ask.

As Carol said .. although the Ferry timetables don't change much month to month once the season gets in full swing .. they are all updated in the ferry taxi and transfer board as they come out

Thanks for the information. Really appreciate this.Having sat and applied a bit of common sense, there will be a transfer earlier in the day ergo the boat should wait. Should have mentioned travelling with Olympic. D'ohhh (Slaps forehead)

At the moment there's a 17.30 crossing on Saturday from KS so you shouldn't have a problem being on in time for that. I'd like to hear how you get on with your transfer as in the past we've done the Wednesday flight that arrives appx 15.00 but are thinking about the Saturday one to save a day's holiday from work
Cheers. Tom and Rose

Just back from Halki with Olympic travelled on Saturday and at 8 o clock am. Arrived at about 2.30 to be informed there was a ferry crossing scheduled on Nissos Halki at 5.30 p.m. so straight over to Halki. last year we travelled over on Saturday and had to overnight in Rhodes, so it changes from year to year.
