Visited same number as you David - stayed on Leros, Ikaria and Tilos in the days of Laskarina and did day trips to Telendos and Patmos. Ikaria was lovely but a pain to get to - flight to Samos, coach to port (Lemenas), ferry to Agios Kirykos then coach over the to the north of the island and then west along to coast road a distance to the apartment. A very long day and in those days the accommodation came with a car hire allowance. Nearest village was 2 miles east and not a flat hike!

Very happy memories of Leros with Laskarina, we were there, by chance, for the 60th Anniversary of the Battle of Leros with veterans from the combatant nations observing the ceremonies of remembrance.

Leros was an interesting island - not on the usual tourist route and thus very much a 'working' island. Managed to get a look at some of the battle sites but some of the most interesting were closed off as still in use by the Greek Army - whose armoured kit seemed to consist largely of American WWII surplus 6 wheelers with 37mm 'pea shooters'!
The sad tale of the Battle of Leros is covered by Antony Roger's book, "CHURCHILL'S FOLLY LEROS AND THE AEGEAN", published by Cassel, 2003.

My own six from the list are Agistri back in 2002 (my first ever Greek island). Then Lipsi, Halki and Tilos (with Laskerina) and a day trip to Patmos whilst on Lipsi. Finally Meganisi in 2008 (possibly with Sunvil?). I have to say that Lipsi is one island that I would really love to revisit sometime -lots of photogenic chapels and churches.

Our neighbours in the next apartment for our 2 weeks on Halki have been going to Lipsi in September the last couple of years. Not too complicated to arrange but it has to be the complete DIY package. Season ends sooner on Lipsi than Halki, so it's pretty quiet when they go.
