Just completed uploading the last images of the third album - 'Halki- Quiet Corners'. As with the previous 2 albums, this was mainly shot in the hour or so after sunrise on my way to and from Dimitri's, sometimes taking a rather circuitous route to fill in the time until he opens at 7am. Halki - Quiet CornersFinal album of 2017 will be centered on Alimnia, starting with my film record and then selected digital images (final mix yet to be sorted!). Steve

Thanks Liz. After 10 years of shooting Halki, this year I was looking for bits of interest that I'd not recorded before and those little hidden views that weren't just the alleyways I've shot all over the world. I found a few 'arty' ones and these by and large worked OK (with a little help in Lightroom). Next year will be a challenge to find more new angles, although I've now got a full frame DSLR plus a converted infra red body to play with, might be easier than it seems now on a cold November morning.

Just happened to look at the HV site this morning after not doing so for a long time - saw your photos, Steve, and as Liz says they are a terrific collection. It's not only the photos, it's being in place to take them "to fill in the time until Dimitri opens at 7am" which gives them a special quality! On a different topic, yesterday while in Keynsham I came across a rather obscure cafe advertising a "Greek night" this evening (Sat) which Christine and I are going to try out - as it's not far from you I'll let you know if it's good, I think they have one about every two or three months.

Yep, that 45mins or so after the sun clears the saddle at the eastern end of the bay is quite magical - I think I had competition in the way of another photographer out and about may be twice in the fortnight! Also means that you can get those little secret views before many people are about which allows one or two minor liberties along the way to get a better angle.
Hope tonight's little sortie is good. Not sure we'll be able to try it out though as our Saturday evenings are spoken for - comes under the heading of social services/parent support.

Thank you Steve for posting your photos, I always find them interesting and I agree with you about the magical quality of the early light on Halki. Here is one of mine from when the sun is just about to clear the saddle in the east. Attachments:

Nice shot - letter box style/pano just right. My 'base' has a less restricted view of the saddle as the next property (the last on the water front this side) is quite well set back and I can scramble up there in 10 minutes if I want to. It's worth doing, whether to take a camera with you or not.
