I tried, I really tried to resist but just booked my fifth visit to Halki for next June. Countless other islands were looked at but in the end I couldn't face not having my two weeks there. Tilos did get some serious thought (following my day trip from Halki last July) but the prospect of losing two days of my holiday in Rhodes now that Olympic rely on the Dodek Express schedule was off putting but worst of all I realised that the transfer to Tilos would involve calling at Halki first. It's bad enough leaving it behind after two weeks but seeing it for just a few minutes would have been unbearable! Best of all I'm back at the excellent Dorothea and (if I've got it right) the same top floor studio with private balcony (see my review in the Accomodation section here). Bet the TV still doesn't work though! A new twist from Olympic this year - flight choices. I'm on the 05.30 EasyJet from Gatwick (but could have had 09.00 EnterAir for a bit more). I'm hoping this might result in getting to Halki earlier if there is an earlier ferry crossing - but realise that I might just end up spending some time on Rhodes instead. The noon flight back is much better though and won't involve spending most of the the day at the Kassandra (as nice as it is). Looking forward to reading all your trip reports from those that get there ahead of me  |

Well done David, we will be there for a week in June but back again for three weeks in Sept; we have used the EJ flight from Gatwick for a numbers of years now and, other than for getting up a tad early, never had any problems with it - I have to say that our 'treat' is to get a taxi to Kamiros Scala and simply have very long lunch there pending Halki transfer - if you are going on a Wednesday, I doubt you will find an early ferry across though. Likewise, other than for a two hour delay once, we 1220 EJ flight back has never - as yet - been other than reliable (but we may have simply struck lucky). JtB

Our paths may cross David as we'll be there from the last Wednesday in June in our usual hideaway on the front at the eastern end of the harbour. JTB's experiences of EJ matches ours. Bonus for me is the cabin baggage size allowance - can get my full camera kit in with no issues about weight.
