Does anyone know where these two properties are. We've just booked into Iris 1 but have no idea whether 1 or 2 would have been the better bet. Any information from anyone who has been inside these properties would be great.

It's an Olympic property with a singular image giving a view southwards towards the hotel at the western tip of the harbour. Judging by the twin red tiled roofs and the furthest away looks very recently painted, I'd suggest that this image is pretty close to nailing down the location. www.flickr.com/photos/11797386@N06/7616518792/in/album-72157630682324396/It's probably the white building with the pale tawny decoration around the windows etc in the right hand margin. That so, its on handy for the water front with the Black Sea Taverna within about 3 mins stagger and a supermarket another 1 minute on. Stayed in the building in front for several years, hence the detail knowledge about stagger times......

Found a longer view which shows the whole of that section of the western side of the harbour www.flickr.com/photos/11797386@N06/7616515910/in/album-72157630682324396/Colour is a bit warm as it's still fairly early and the golden tint that sun rise gives hasn't quite dissipated. The property of interest is in the first tier above those on the water front. The Olympic image shows the 'beach' to the left of the house painted blue grey with the windows boarded up at the left hand end. Next house is in Greek ownership/occupation, then it's a Nissia property (where we've stayed), followed by a Greek family owned/occupied property painted in light green. Behind it is a couple of white painted properties with golden yellow decoration to features such as doors and windows. That's where Iris 1 & 2 are I pretty sure. The house above to the right of the family house isn't occupied and is in needed of a lot of work. Black Sea Tavern is most right hand building in shot on the water front. HTH

Thanks Stevec, that's really helpful. Are 1 and 2 separate buildings or are they floor 1 and floor 2 in the same building. If separate buildings, which would have the better view Thanks

Can't give you a steer on the detail of the apartment building other it looks to be as though both are on the same level. Certainly I don't recall a multi level building behind us when we stayed in Tillymachos -it probably had steps up to a 'patio' in front of the building (roof over the basement/foot path level storage rooms), like the building next to it on the r/h side but thereafter the memory is a little fuzzy. I walked along that path many many times over the last 10 years, but I can't help you any more I'm afraid.

Hi, Just got back from another fabulous holiday in Halki. Thought I'd get back with the location of Mediterranean Iris 1 and 2. Apparently they were previously called the Red House. They are just behind Kiki Studios, and for those who don't know where Kiki Studios are, if you look from the harbour they are just to the left of the church, between the top and middle roads. Iris 1 has good views over the harbour apart from trees which are growing a little too high, but Iris 2 looks at the back wall of Kiki Studios, so lucky for us we chose 1!
