Hello all
Making my first visit to Halki in a few weeks. I've found the answers to most of my questions throughout the forum, so all I've been left with is a pretty mundane one!
Is there a shop on the island selling sea shoes or even flippers? I should've bought some when I was on Skopelos earlier this year but didn't get round to it (and then stood on something sharp on the last day!).
Cheers Mark

A very sensible question! With rocks you have urchins, with sand you have weevers! Consider buying them in the UK, or Rhodes, and look for quality. The "jelly sandals" get slippery when wet and you slide out of them so they are not of much use. The thing is that such items are readily available in super high quality and innumerable sizes in Rhodes. You may find this is not so in Halki. Also stuff like that left in the sun, in a tourist shop, for a long time may be sun damaged. This would be particularly true of unusual sizes. Popular sizes may be sold out! The same goes for masks and snorkels. Other than those caveats Liz is correct and you will probably be OK.

Not everyone wears 'sea shoes', I have noted that more and more visitors wear flip flops over the stones on the beach to the waters edge, and then go straight in, the two beaches known that are well known for their stones do appear to have a lot more sand, especially were you ingress and egress the cool Aegean Sea.
Anyone should be able to obtain some form of footwear at a surfing shop in the UK, or as previously stated Ria's, the shop on the way to Pondamos or the new shop on the harbour situated between The Black Sea and Babis.
