Nowadays we are much happier organising our own holiday staying in accomodation owned by and let by local people eg halkidirect.
Thanks for that vote of confidence Gilly! We always try and make sure people know exactly what they're renting, and we send extra photos of our properties if the website ones aren't sufficient for someone to make a choice. There's plenty of choice on Halki these days and most owners who rent their properties themselves (rather than via an agency) will go out of their way to help potential clients, and with all aspects of their holiday and not just the accommodation.

Thanks sth, that means a lot to us. You're totally right about how things have changed. The challenge is always to try and keep what makes Halki special and small and genuinely friendly in balance with us real "locals" trying to make a living. It's not always easy.

It's a lovely location , very quiet , nice terrace .. Great bathroom which is separate but not a problem .. I'm sure you will have a great time there

Hi catmanblue, I'm posting to try to put yur mind at rest. I've been going to the studio now for over 10 years, at least for 4 weeks every year. The Studio itself is fine, a tad dark, but that in itself ensures that it is cool. The terrace, however, is to die for. Large, large large! When the terrace is in shade (from about 4:00 in the afternoon), then the, private, courtyard is sunny, and the other way around. My sister visited the isand with me this year, for her visit ever visit. She also loved the studio.
