Yes, it's a lot colder than Halki! We had great weather, just one day of cloud and one of those spectacular storms overnight, and the rest of the time it was wall to wall sunshine. Just great.
The harbour works were not too bothersome, and at least it made the decision of where to eat each night a little easier. But it will be great to see it back to normal next year. Part of Theodosia's roof was removed and the cafe closed for a day and night while they worked on the corner near the post office. Theodosia was away and quite horrified when she returned but it was all put back the next day. Friends of ours had a rather alarming encounter with the 'head of works' who objected strongly to his taking photos. He thought he was doing it for the islanders so they could complain and quizzed him about what he was doing, what his job was, why he was here etc.. Quite intimidating though as he was followed into the shop and asked to go outside to answer questions with an interpreter. Not what you expect on Halki.
Nick was still open at Ftenagia but due to close the day we left. Don't know if it's been reported elsewhere on the site (I haven't had a chance to catch up properly yet) but Leli's wife, Lorna, is expecting a baby in February.
Kiki was there, and her mum is home too. Such good news. She is almost back to full health I believe, just taking it a little easy and convalescing.
I saw Lynn's comments regarding the taxi on return, (thanks for your help Lynn, what a service!) and in the end we decided to go for the book it at Kamiros Skala option. However, when we got there we joined up with a couple who had one booked already. They use the same guy every time who, I think, is the cousin of the chap at the Black Sea. So they win out on reliability I suppose, but again the charge was 50 euros, more than we've ever paid. Then again we only paid half so it didn't matter so much.
I was looking forward to having a drink on the hotel terrace but sadly, it closed the day we arrived. Grrrrr..... I'll have to wait to May now.
Sorry this is a bit disjointed, I've not quite settled down yet. Have I answered all the questions? Ask away if I've missed anything.

Hi Amanda
So glad that you managed to get back to Halki and that you had a good time. Pleased that the weather stayed nice.
It is great news about Leli and his wife, they went for a scan whilst we were there. It's weird though he definitely introduced her as 'Elena' or similar, not Lorna? We even learnt a little of Albaninan so that we could greet her. her cooking was excellent too.
As for the weather here, we've had some lovely sun but it is definitely colder and set to get even colder next week!
love to Craig and the hubby. ;D

It's weird though he definitely introduced her as 'Elena' or similar, not Lorna? She is Elona and he is Anduel. How they make Lorna and Leli out of those I don't know, but there you go, that's Albanians for you!
