Hello all. We are finally getting to Halki having booked in 2011 to arrive on the day of the general strike. Our flights were cancelled so we rebooked flights to Crete. It rained every day having had a 24 hour delay!
Anyway, we are arriving on the Easyjet flight which leaves Gatwick at 5.50am. I assume that it is still the case that the 1st ferry we can get will be 5pm? We are considering getting a taxi straight to the beach near the port but I keep thinking we should go tp the port first just in case we can get over earlier. But the we would have to walk to the beach with our luggage. Can you leave luggage there and wander off?
Also I wondered if anyone would be on that flight on the 9th October and would like to share a taxi?
Thanks for any help. We haven't been to Halki for 6 years and really looking forward to it!

I think you will be restricted to the later ferry - it might be worth texting the Fedon the day before to see if they are running +30 693 725 25 25 They do reply quickly to texts , I'm not sure but if there's still day trips from Rhodes you may be able to get on one of those You can get a bus to KS which stops outside the airport just before 2pm ( we didn't use it on our outbound trip but we used it on the way back ) it stops by the coffee shop outside the airport I think your luggage would be ok ( famous last words ) if you parked it up by one of the tavernas ..maybe have a drink and ask if its ok to leave there till the ferry But whatever ..have a fabulous time

Check out the Dodaconese ferry times from Rhodes Kollona harbour. Honesty is rife in Greece but good advise to buy a drink at a taverna and ask to leave your luggage. When you get to Halki - a must is Kania beach and say hi to Poppy and Flower from mother and daugher - 'early on the beach'. They will know who you mean. Have a great time.

Thanks very much for the replies! It seems we will have to spend the day on the little beach near the port then. Probably asleep as the flight is so early!
