Hello Nearly all booked for Halki next July (end of a level exam and birthday treat wrapped into one for me and my dad)! Now, the only reason I haven't booked the flights is because I'm debating whether to take any checked luggage to save money, however I think I may have to as I distinctly remember 2 years ago having to put all of my hand luggage liquids into my hold luggage as when I got to check in at Rhodes there was a large sign saying "NO liquids in hand luggage". Can anyone update me on this? Are liquids allowed in hand luggage? I was and am going to fly Thomson and on their site it simply says airports allow small quantities of liquids through security so not much help! Thanks

You're allowed 10 x 100ml per person , so no one item can exceed 100 mls , we are going hand luggage only next week so ill let you know for sure when we get back

Thanks I'm sure we will ... all that said once your through all the security checks you can buy bigger bottles of toiletries as long as they fit in your hand luggage we've never had a problem doing that

Yeah we normally do that too just wish the Rhodes airport website was a little more informative! Although it has improved since I last visited it

We fly EJ and only ever take hand luggage as it saves loads of time and money. No problem so long as you keep to the 10 x 100ml per person and keep in separate sealable plastic bag (we use supermarket food bags) . We take soap instead of shower gel as that doesn't count as liquid, standard toothpaste tube is 100ml so that's OK, small roll on/spray deodorant/shaving gel etc all available at Superdrug.

Thanks Bev! Yes, the amount they charge for checked in bags is shocking!
