We "found" Halki last August and loved it so much we were lucky enough to go back for a second time in September. We did have all intentions of taking a trip on the boats, the ferry to Rhodes and the water taxis but somehow we never got around to it. We are returning in early September for two weeks, will the taxis and boats still be operating and if so can anyone make any suggestions.

Yes everything should be running, September is a busy month, lots of repeat visitors. You will definitely be able to go to Rhodes using the ferries and can most likely do a day trip to Tilos on the catamaran, there may be other trips available when you are there and they will be advertised by the ferries.

sorry another question. If we get the ferry back to Rhodes to go to the Old Town for the day, do you know how we get from the landing dock place into the centre? How do we book a taxi?

We used to do a day trip many years ago and we caught the 6am ferry from Halki which connects with a bus to Rhodes, I seem to remember the bus was about 8am, coming home we caught the bus again to connect with the 2.30pm ferry, to do it by taxi would make it a very expensive trip, about 100 euros

Can anyone tell me how many people a water taxi can take and if four or more can it be shared?
